Hi I was just wondering if anyone had tried the special K diet? If so how does it work, I read u are allowed 45g bowl at breakfast & lunch and then a healthy dinner.
Are u allowed healthy snacks? If so is it only fruit?
Want to try it from Monday for a fortnight to kickstart some weight loss !
Thanks

I would imagine you'd be absolutely starving if you tried this diet, and that it's pretty likely to fail. There's a low carb boot camp thread that you could search for on here, I think that's a better way to lose weight.

There’s a channel 4 programme on at the moment called how to lose weight well and someone did this diet on there . Might be worth a watch on catch up ? She did quite well but is a temporary fix .

I saw it trialled on that programme, I was surprised at how well she got on with it. Compared to some of the ridiculous diets they try on there, it made it appear quite a sensible option! I think you can have limited fruit as snacks OP, as long as you don't go mad.

I wouldn't bother, it's basically wheat flakes which raise your blood pressure faster than sugar! Oh it will have sugar in it too. Grin

You'd be better off with 2 slices of pure rye toast for breakfast they'd fill you up and take longer than wheat to digest so more satisfying.

I tried that once, in the dim and distant past, and it made my blood sugars go crazy. I nearly passed out in the afternoon on day 2.

Don't do it. You're overloading your body with too much sugar (from the high carb load of the cereal + milk)

You'd probably be better eating one meal a day and no sugary carbs. I would just feel more hungry if I did that!

I watch that show it is interesting but I reckon (and I KNOW personally!) that the slow chewing way of eating works better ! That's for life!
