Chloe Madeley’s 4 Week Body Blitz

Hi,

I am considering buying Chloe Madeley’s book, it looks very good and isn’t a bad price at all on Amazon. However, I commute to work so was wondering what the recipes are like? Particularly for lunch and dinner. Are they the type of thing you can make and transport to work easily?

TIA! Xx

@Bluntness100 I agree! There's a great intro in the book as to how she got into fitness. Very interesting lady.

Elvisola · 12/02/2018 07:56

Thanks Hmmm, yes all recipes from the book. Also bolognese with courgetti. Recipes are easy and I'm eating well.

Elvisola · 12/02/2018 07:59

Fruitnfibre, I don't add veg to my breakfast just because it would be horrid. I just add an extra handful of leaves to lunch.

Bluntness100 · 12/02/2018 08:00

Hashtag, agree, I find it strange, you see her in the media and people are all "oh she's just a media hog, her bikini is too small". I look at her and think "that must have taken some dedication, she clearly knows what she's doing when it comes to diet and fitness, let's see what she has to say"..

Different perspectives I think.

LosingItThisYear · 12/02/2018 10:44

Thanks for the food info. I generally like low carb so think I will go for it - once half term isn’t out of the way!

Puggy1985 · 13/02/2018 20:40

Hi everyone! Mind if I join? I started the plan yesterday so just finished day 2! I'm a regular gym goer but I must say the Workouts are hard work and my legs definitely hurt today! No pain, no gain Smile

HmmmHashtag · 15/02/2018 21:33

Hey @puggy1985 and everyone else, how are you getting on? I've slipped a bit this week... No exercise since Monday and had a drink or 4 every night 😮 but stuck to my diet. Am back on the exercise tomorrow with a vengeance.

Todayisanewday75 · 16/02/2018 09:50

Watching this with interest, planning on starting the week after next when I’ll have finished my current exercise plan.

Puggy1985 · 16/02/2018 13:12

The food has been really tasty and pretty easy to prepare. I prepped my breakfast (smoothies) and lunches (hearty soup) for the week on Monday which made is easier. Its pretty easy to follow and I do feel really good. My weigh in will be on Monday so hopefully I've lost a pound or two. I don't have a huge amount to lose (about 8 pounds) but finding it hard to shift on other diets xxx

Puggy1985 · 16/02/2018 13:14

Keep it up @HmmmHashtag, it'll be worth it I'm sure! I think I will find it hard getting through the weekend without a whole bottle of wine to myself! At some friends for dinner on Saturday so will be offplan, but won't be drinking as I'm driving!

Sussex1983 · 18/02/2018 08:19

I bought the book yestetday and plan on starting tomorrow.
Did any of you take ‘before’ photographs?

Hobbes8 · 18/02/2018 08:27

I've just bought the book and planning on starting in a week. I've been doing a fitness blender 8 week programme, so I'm hoping the exercises won't be too hard (although a minute of burpees! I find 20 seconds on fitness blender a challenge). The food looks a little repetitive - lots of chicken and broccoli - but easy and quick enough to prepare.

Fitness blender has been fab but I haven't lost much weight doing it - I've been a bit too carby/boozy lately so I'm hoping a month of this will shift some weight.

BubblesPip · 18/02/2018 08:28

I’ve got the book and need to get organised with food shopping so I can get started. I’m worrried that the food shop will be too expensive though? Is anyone finding it expensive?

Hobbes8 · 18/02/2018 08:48

There's some more expensive ingredients - steak for eg or smoked salmon - but also chicken, lean mince, eggs, yogurt, salad and veg. It'll be more expensive if you usually buy lots of frozen processed meat - the emphasis is definitely on fresh ingredients.

You don't necessarily need lots of variety either, which I've always found expensive with other diets. You can make a low carb spag bol and eat it all week.

TwinkleStars15 · 18/02/2018 10:30

I started this on Monday but only managed to fit in the exercise twice! I have a 7 month old who will only nap on me so it’s been pretty tricky, any tips appreciated! I did lose 3lbs though by following the food plan, which is surprisingly filling and tasty. I’m going to restart tomorrow as I want to give 100%....must try harder!!

Puggy1985 · 18/02/2018 13:33

Yeah if you have lots of steak and smoked salmon etc it will be more expensive, but I've had a mix of all the meals and spent the same as my normal weekly shop! I'm in Day 7 today and been following it religiously, exercise everyday, but scales haven't really moved yet! Fingers crossed next week will be better!

Puggy1985 · 18/02/2018 13:33

Well done @TwinkleStars15 on your loss, that's brilliant!! Grin

TwinkleStars15 · 18/02/2018 16:35

@puggy1985 I’m breastfeeding so think that’s helping with the loss! Well done on sticking to it religiously, I failed at Valentines Day as we went out for a meal and again yesterday as the family all went out for a meal. No excuses now though, just about to read the book again - tomorrow it starts again and this time I WILL DO IT!

Todayisanewday75 · 21/02/2018 07:30

Are you all just using the recipes from the book or making your own up? I’m planning on starting next Monday and am worried it might get a bit repetitive.

ivykaty44 · 21/02/2018 07:35

I don’t get why you would follow a book of recipes written by a tv presenters daughter

Todayisanewday75 · 21/02/2018 07:41

Also I assume it’d be ok to eat more veg?

Every fitness trainer or receive writer is somebody's son or daughter.
Why the snobbery about Chloe. She is a qualified fitness instructor and made this her carrier.
Is it only ok to but books from , say, Joe Wicks?

Puggy1985 · 21/02/2018 08:15

Completely agree @notacooldad - she is a qualified personal trainer and nutritionalist in her own right and you just have to look at her to see that she knows what she's doing! It just so happens her parents are famous.

I've mainly been following the recipes but I've had a few meals I've made up myself based on her principles. I've added some more non starchy veg on some days when I'm extra hungry.

Why is it relevant who her parents are? What a bizzare mind set.shes a grown woman and qualified in her own right. You only have to take one look at her body to know it.

Does what your parents do impact on people's views on whether you can do your job or not? Do you get asked at interviews?
