Is anyone else starting the Whole30 in the New Year?

I have put on so much weight and need to kick start some weight loss and, crucially, change my attitude to food.

I lost about 3 stones on Paleo and felt healthier and happier than I have for years. Then I went on holiday and let a few things slip back in to my diet, and since then it's been a downward slide into Magnums for breakfast and I haven't been able to get back on track for more than a week. I've put it all back on and some extra I think (can't face weighing myself other than in kg which I can't convert mentally so don't know). I really can't do 'moderation', I have to do all or nothing. I think the rigidity of the Whole30 will help me to change my attitude and kick my sugar/carb addiction again.

I don't have any of the books but there's so much info online that I think I'll be ok with what I can eat etc, and it's only a slightly more extreme version of Paleo, which I followed happily for over a year.

Would anyone like to have a thread where we discuss our progress, meal ideas etc? Smile

I’m not doing it (I’ve looked at it a lot but DH isn’t quite on board) but I know there’s a few very active Facebook groups.

In Mumsnet you might be better posting in weight loss chat - I think I saw a whole 30 thread there before.

I'm finding it surprisingly easy so far! I have eaten loads though to be fair. Breakfast yesterday was omelette with mushroom and onion, followed by a spinach and fruit smoothie, salmon and salad for lunch, and pork belly with mashed sweet potato and carrot with cabbage. A couple of apples for snacks and black redbush tea. No cravings yet! (fingers crossed)

Would anyone else like to join the thread?
