My food intake today

I want to lose a dress size (size 14 down to a 12).

What do you all think of my food intake today:

Breakfast: 2 weetabix with semi skimmed milk and a cup of tea

Mid morning: a crab stick

Lunch: Half a tin of veg soup with half a french bread stick

Dinner: 2 pork and apple burgers (made from scratch) in brown pitta break with salad, tomatoes and mushrooms

I also intend to have a cup of hot chocolate later

I did a DVD aerobic work out as well as 80 sit ups too.

So going by todays example, am I likely to lose a dress size like this or do I need to be more strict with myself?

Well the hot chocolate certainly won?t help, although if it?s highlights it only contains 40 calories per serving.

Ultimately in order to lose weight you need to be burning more calories than you?re consuming. Also it?s important to try and reduce your fat intake. You can reduce calories with simple things, eg having sweeteners in tea instead of sugar if you can face them (I personally think they?re vile). And eating fish/chicken instead of red meet will reduce your fat intake. Also drinking water is important, approx two litres a day and that will help you lose weight as that flushes the body of all the waste products. Also, if you?re drinking water rather than other drinks you can use the calories you would have consumed in your drinks to have more food iyswim, and water fills you up more so reduces the need to snack.

I too am trying to lose weight and my food intake has consisted of:

Breakfast, 1 wheatabix with semi-skimmed milk and a large (500 ml) glass of water.
mid-morning ? large glass of water.
Lunch ? marmite sandwich and large glass of water
Afternoon ? cup of tea with semi-skimmed milk and sugar (as said above I can?t do sweeteners)
Dinner ? left over rost beef from yesterday with new potatoes (without any butter) and salad. And large glass of water which took me up to my two litres.
And this morning I did 10 mins on the rowing machine and 15 mins on the cross trainer.

Ultimately a lot of losing weight is about common sense. If you cut out the biscuits and the chocolate and the generally unhealthy things that contain the most calories (100 g of Cadburys dairymilk contains 500 calories) then it?s likely you will lose weight as long as you generally eat healthily. I found that actually calory counting made me totally change the way I looked at food, so was more likely to wait for dinner than to eat that bar of chocolate. But I also think that it?s important to allow the occasional treat as if you cut out everything you will become disheartened and give up more easily.
