Morning ladies

Hope we have all hd a good week.Had a delish Chinese last night.I was soooo hungry as i hadn't eaten anything since brekkie, had 1st part of my root canal done yesterday and hadn't planned my tea.So when DH suggested a carry out i jumped at it lol.So much for only having a treat at the weekend!! Never mind i ate loads and really enjoyed it

Wonder if i'll be smiling when i weigh in later on tonight??

Have a good day all xx

littlemisssensible · 26/04/2007 09:37

Hi agalch,

How did the Root Canal go? I've some bridge work to look forward to in May....eeeeek

I've stayed the same this week but I'm quite pleased with that as, whilst I've been eating fairly healthily, the stress of house hunting has mean't a far few chocolate items have found their way into my mitts! I havn't been to the gym for over a week either, though I did manage an hour on the tradmill last night. Gotta complete my marathon in April or I won't win a free weeks pass for DH and he seriously needs to get some exercise!

EllieG · 26/04/2007 10:10

So excited by having lost some weight yesterday went home and snarfled loads of pix n mix and g&t after my tea. But have been dead healthy this week and probably won't make any difference as long as careful. Am going away this weekend to visit my sis in London and have a feeling will be a bit calorific though...can make sure eat salads etc on meals out but it's the vino - and then willpower gets shot to blazes when have had a few glasses and get the munchies. Will just accept not going to be a great week for weight loss next week I think and try to stay same at least.
Does a new thread start every week?

littlemisssensible · 26/04/2007 10:35

Hi Ellie,

Yep, we get a new thread every week just after we've done all the weights and cheered and/or commiserated each other!

I think you've got the right attitude to weekends away! Enjoy it and don't worry too much about trying to lose weight because its only a small part of the week as a whole and an even smaller part of the month so it won't really make a big difference! It'll may be just mean staying the same or a small gain this week!

The secret is not to start thinking you've blown everything and then spending the rest of the week eating the fridge!.....And if I could crack that small problem I'd be a stick insect!

EllieG · 26/04/2007 10:39

Me too! But even more curvaceous ladies are allowed a treat so am gonna enjoy my weekend without worrying and just go to gym plenty next week. Defo makes it easier having this thread to post on - support good thanks ladies

suejonez · 26/04/2007 13:13

had a pretty wierd weigh in today, having said (for those of you who remember) that I had mysteriously lost 5lb between home in the morning and Boots at lunchtime , well I have somehow put 4lb back on! Which I can;t possibly have - haven;t the had the best week but equally not the worst by a long straw. So I assume that last weeks weight was wrong and am going to start agin with this weeks and assume I stayed the same. I know that sounds like a cheat but those of you who know me will know I don;t bother pretending if I really have put on.

Very odd though, Boots have new all singing all dancing scales, I wonder if that is the issue. Bloody things speak to you which is so embarrassing in the middle of the shop blush] when you really don;t want any attention drawn to you weighing.

JackieNo · 26/04/2007 15:29

EllieG - hope you enjoy your weekend away. littlemisssensible's right - just go with the flow, eat healthy bits if you can, but don't obsess about it, and accept that some days you'll eat more, some less. And all that going to the gym will be speeding up your metabolism, so that you're working off your food quicker.

Sue - so frustrating for you. I would take bets on it being the scales that are having the fluctuations, and not you - and very annoying to have speaking ones.

I've weighed, and have, I think, lost half a pound. I did overdo it a bit at book club yesterday, so am trying to rein myself back in again now.

(and EllieG - can I just ask, am I being dim, or is your name a pun on Ali G? It came to me yesterday while I was washing up - no idea why, and I thought I'd ask if it was deliberate)

Dottydot · 26/04/2007 20:36

So I went back to WW after 2 weeks skiving and I've ONLY put 3lbs on..!

Am quite relieved really - starting back on the wagon again tomorrow with the aim of getting rid of it in the next couple of weeks!

JackieNo · 26/04/2007 20:48

Well done Dottydot - that's really good. I bet you'll lose that in no time.

OP posts:
Dottydot · 26/04/2007 21:42

The problem is that if I don't go to WW I put on between 1 - 2lbs a week. That's really not good... Feeling very fat at the moment - just a few lbs makes me feel like I'm back at square one and it's all a waste.

JackieNo · 26/04/2007 22:34

But it so isn't a waste. You're not even close to being back at square one - you've done brilliantly, and you'll get back into it. Pick your cliche - 'one day at a time', 'baby steps' etc - just make a start, keep plugging away at it, and you'll get there eventually.

Morning all

Well i put on 2.5 lst night.Teacher reckons the last week plus the wedding has caught up with me.Plus have my period too which bloats me right up so not in the least bit surprised. My really nice friend stayed the same and a not so nice "friend" grinned and looked soooo happy when i said what i'd gained that nice friend had a go at her.

If not so nice friend gains i am always really nice to her but won't bother next time. She can go and raffle in future!!!

Have def lost my focus since the wedding but will find it this week if it kills me lol.Was at gym last night and going tonight and Sunday and prob most night next week.

Anyhow must go,off to shops to stock up on veg and salad stuff for over the weekend.

Have a good one!! xx

EllieG · 27/04/2007 11:51

JackieNo - hadn't thought of that actually. Name is just very boringly my name plus inital of my last name. THough I may now pretend it is a pun on ALiG to make me sound more interesting.

EllieG · 27/04/2007 11:54

Incidentally it is SO nice to talk about weight issues with people who sound the same as me. I know what you mean about it feeling about being back at the beginning when you've put on a few pounds, and it's great to hear all the good advice from people who aren't a size 10 and do it really easily. Means I actually pay attention to it rather than just feeling more inadequate.

suejonez · 27/04/2007 13:00

Dotty I understand that you feel like you're back at square one, but you're not are you? Give yourself a pat on the back for what you''ve lost so far and keep plodding on...

coppertop · 27/04/2007 13:42

I've just caught up with this thread and realise that I've forgotten to e-mail again. I think I've stayed the same, but my scales might need new batteries. In any case I'm feeling a lot more positive since I re-joined you all.

LOL at the description of little ds-Jonez. Dd (also 13mths) isn't quite ready for walking yet but I recognise the description of the angry little face when they realise they have to crawl off to find something to pull themselves back up with (or shuffle off, in dd's case).

JackieNo · 27/04/2007 15:57

No problem coppertop - I've put you in.

OK - weights for this week (sorry - can't access hotmail at work).

Littlemisssensible: stayed the same (total: -5.5)
JackieNo: -0.5 (total -1.5)
whoopsfallenoveragain: -2.5 (total -6)
coppertop: stayed the same (total -3)
WigWamBam: -1 (total -8)
agalch: +2.5 (total -22.5)
EllieG: -2 (total -2).

Well done everyone. So this week's crown goes to whoopsfallenoveragain, with EllieG getting a runner's-up coronet .
