So however many times I have been in this place (too many) I am starting tomorrow..sigh..yawn.

I have a plan for the big countdown until I'm 40:
Loose two stone
Have my eyebrows tattooed on in an expensive and natural type of way!!
Its a toss up between going on a sunbed regularly or using retinoids! Probably fake tan and retinol A from Thailand will win.
Nearer the time get my eyelashes extended
Plan and throw a big party where I wear an amazing dress that I already own but can't fit into yet!!

Any one around to join in and be accountable with me?
xx

Hi Twinkle, you are doing really great!! I've not, unfortunately. Started the no s diet and really enjoyed it, after the first day found it easy to stick to and something I could definitely live with long term. The weight loss was supposed to be about half a pound a week, so slower than I am used to - but like I said something I could stick to long term.

Restrained myself from weighing for two weeks as my scales don't measure half pounds - so was hoping for a pound off and I had put on two pounds. Thought I'd give it another chance so weighed again a week later and another four pounds on. So after sticking to it for three weeks I'm six pounds heavier!!!

I'm now on my fitness pal. Aiming for two pounds off a week which will bring me to my goal weight by 7th June. It just seems like such a long time away!! And the problem is I've so many other things I want to do before I'm 40 I keep getting sidetracked from the weight loss to focus on something else and then sidetracked from that to something else and not actually accomplishing anything.

Anyway, you are doing great - keep it up!! And if you have any excess motivation throw it in my direction please Smile

134 days until my 40th Birthday!

What is this thing called time? I can not believe it. So really lots has changed and nothing has changed. Here is the update:

  1. I have carried on meal prepping every week and that has meant that we eat much much better. Also it fits into our lives because I am usually out of the house most of the day and by the time the kids are in bed sooo tired.
  2. I really did get bigger doing crossfit. So I have stopped that and gone back to my early morning exercise class that I used to do. Back to 5.30am starts...but at least its getting warmer and lighter and brighter.
  3. I had a make-up lesson. Best thing ever. A few tweaks here and there with my make-up and I look loads better.
  4. My eyebrows are booked for the Easter Holidays.....
  5. My crest white strips have arrived from America
  6. I have started to drink Fountain - the Phyto Miracle one and I do think its brightened my complexion.
  7. I now do a beauty routine using Liz Earle and Aldi products.
  8. I do feel a bit uncomfortable focusing so much on my external appearance....but I'm carrying on..because its eating better, exercising and paying attention to washing my face in a fancy way..and so its not that much its just more than every before.
  9. I have only just today hired an online coach for the next 12 weeks to help me. I put the effort in, I am consistent but it still feels like there is a missing piece that maybe someone else can help me with.
It will probably be train harder!

20 days until I'm 40!!
Update on the goals
Loose two stone - Not quite..got bigger but I have lost weight this week!!

Have my eyebrows tattooed on in an expensive and natural type of way!! - Yes I have done this and they look AMAZING! I completely recommend.

Its a toss up between going on a sunbed regularly or using retinoids! Probably fake tan and retinol A from Thailand will win. - - Haven't done either. This stunning summer has helped. I also brought frownies which my husband finds hilarious but I think they have helped. I also use a derma roller once a week.

Nearer the time get my eyelashes extended - this is booked

Plan and throw a big party where I wear an amazing dress that I already own but can't fit into yet!! - This is booked...

I am sooooooo happy and excited for my party. I have had a really rough middle of the year. I have really tried to lose weight. I think its really hard. I am on day six of the cambridge diet in a last ditch attempt to meet my two stone goal!! It will probably be nearer to a stone but I have decided to be happy with that.

The countdown is on!!

18 days until I'm 40

So I had my week one weigh in and I went from 10 stone to 9 stone 8 - whoop whoop!

So this year I have tried veganism, following that paleo for 12 weeks, nourishing and caring for my body ..and the only thing that has actually worked for me has been going back to assisted starvation with the Cambridge diet.

At the moment I am fitting back into trousers and skirts that I week ago I couldn't fit in which is quite motivating for week two!

11 days until I'm 40

Week 2 of cambridge and I lost....drum roll...1lb.

Seven days. 600 -800 calories. 5 early morning workouts. 1x 5K run, 1 x dance class and 1x at home turbo fire workout. 1lb.

While I am of course happy as when you average it out over two weeks its 6.5lbs and I am only 5 foot.

But still....it doesn't seem possible. Where does my body get its energy from? Thin air?!!

The weight is so quick to come on and so hard to get off. I am keeping on keeping on...

Good luck! I am 40 in two months and can definitely relate to the need to sort myself out for the date. Just hope I don't decide to postpone losing the weight to my 50th....
Summer of bootcamp gym, vague BSD and erm three weeks in Europe eating everything should sort it out, no.
We are hoping to be in our new house by then- solicitors and Arsey vendor permitting..
I hope that you have a wonderful celebration!

thetwinkletoescollective · 18/07/2018 14:54

Duriandurian - thanks so much for your wishes! Sorry I didn't see you had messaged earlier. Your holiday sounds like mine - I am going to France for two and a half weeks but I am determined to get leaner. I am taking the long view. We can do it!!

4 days until I am 40!!

So I am not really a great advert for the cambridge diet so far. I have stuck to it like a stamp to an envelope...and my loss for this week was...drum roll......nothing. Nope. 810 cals - weighed my chicken and my spinach...went to early morning hiit classes and ......nothing.

I thought last week maybe I was exercising too much and so I dropped it to four times this week...

What I will say is that I do look and feel different despite the scales. I am looking a lot smaller and my legs feel lighter if that is even a thing!

My fake tan and hair is happening tonight.
Tomorrow is the lashes and then thats sort of my prep done!! I am soooooo excited!!

Phew...I give myself A for effort..and while its a little disappointing that I have really really tried this past 240 odd days...weight loss is a lot harder than a before and after picture can show.

Hats off to all the ladies who are losing!!

2 days post 40

Well just to draw this thread to a close.

The party happened and it was so much fun!

I am glad I wrote my goals down as I did achieve them. I hit my purple patch at just the right moment and it was brilliant.
Now I'm off on holiday!!
