I've been doing SW for the last 8wks and have lost 6lbs - am bit gutted at slow progress but am going to carry on and combine it with exercise and go for the slow and steady approach.

I went to about 5 meetings and they just weren't for me, all the women and the leader just chatting about their lives, where they went on holiday, what their sisters wedding was like, a row they had with next door neightbours etc etc - not a whole lot about dieting or very inspirational plus the meetings lasted 1.5hrs!! I've got 2 small children and decided that my time would be better spent at the gym than paying £4.50 and listening to a loads of women I'm not interested in.
(don't get me wrong, the women and the leader and lovely and dead friendly but just not for me)

The next couple of weeks I just went and got weighed and left saying that the baby was ill so I had to get home (but I just went to gym instead)

I don't want to go anymore but I know the leader will ring me up when I don't turn up and persuade me to carry on - she's very enthusiastic. I keep thinking of excuses I can give her and was thinking I will email her to explain (with an excuse as to why I can't go) but I keep thinking whatever I say she'll find a solution for.

I am aware that this is ridiculous, but the leader is very nice and I often bump into her around the area, at shop etc so don't want to fall out with her.

What can i say?

lol at myself for stupid problem!

Can't you just tell her that you don't think that particular diet is the right one for you?

Just don't go to anymore meetings and when she calls just tell her why.

I do the cambridge diet and its a one to one at the diet counsellors house.

It does cost more money, but its meal replacement so all your food is included.

xenabelly, just tell her you've decided to do the gym instead and can't afford to do both. I'm sure she'll be fine.
Doesn't sound like she's running a sw class anyway it should be motivational and give you food ideas for the week ahead, not a womens group.
