Losing the same 5 pounds over and over and over..........

I am 10st 3lbs and want to be 9st 12lbs and I keep losing and regaining the same five pounds. So stupid I know! Years ago I was 13st 7lbs and I do not want to re-visit that again.

Anyone else losing the same few pounds over and over again?

Frankly ... No.

What do you think is happening? Or not happening?

bedtimestories · 14/10/2017 10:51

I do, I think it's because I see I'm loosening so I'll treat myself to an extra bar of chocolate and it all magically goes back on. I'm heading to forty now, it was so much easier to loose weight in my twenties

FiveShelties · 14/10/2017 11:37

OliviaD - I am sure what is happening, I start with the best of intentions and then relax too much.

That is it bedtime, I cannot seem at the moment to find the happy medium between being 'good' and 'bad'.

I know what you mean and feel your pain

This year my weight has gone between 9st 12 and 9st
I’m always doing really well and getting close to 9st then fall off the wagon and boom within a week I’m back to 9’6

At 42 this is a constant battle
I think if I gave up and just ate what I wanted I would be the size of a house

@FiveShelties

What are the levers you use to lose the weight when you want to?

Do you feel in control of your weight?

BIWI · 14/10/2017 11:55

To be honest, I think this is quite natural.

You'll never reach one weight and stay there all the time! Your body weight will fluctuate naturally. What you're doing sounds quite reasonable to me - you know that there's a 5lb gain beyond which you're not prepared to go, so you deal with it. That sounds pretty disciplined!

FiveShelties · 14/10/2017 14:06

Thanks BIWI, I never thought of it that way.

Mozzchops - yes, I don't want to regain all the weight I lost, and probably more!

OliviaD, my usual diet is excellent, but every so often I seen to get silly and on go the 5 pounds - usually down to wine, and not planning meals.

Mozzchops, I'm still trying to lose, but am going to have to really watch it to say the same when I have finished loosing. It certainly does get harder in your 40s
