Anyone up for a daily food diary thread?

I've been a regular poster on a couple of the threads on here as I had 3 stone to lose after having DD2 back in January. I am only 3Ibs away from achieving this but have found myself on the slippery slope of having a good week followed by 2 binge weeks. I can't seem to apply myself to these last few pounds. As a result, I haven't had a loss for the past 2 months.

The thing that helps me the most is making public what I've eaten as it shames spurs me on to make healthier choices. Then posting weigh in results once a week.

Anyone up for joining me?

Today:

B: an apple and a banana
S: lunchbox portion of cheese
L: 2 slices wholemeal toast with scrambled egg

Reading this has made me realise why I'm overweight! I struggle to lose weight because I get so hungry!

Tell me honestly. Are you all starving? Because you all are hardly eating anything!

greatminds · 10/10/2017 08:07

I love this idea! I am going to try and post each day if I can. Every little helps.

B- porridge
L - protein bar (no sugar)
D - soup with small bread toast with marmite
S - glass of red wine, packet of crisps, oatcakes
E - hour session in gym, weights and cardio.

This accounts to 1600 calories (my target calorie intake).

PugwallsSummer · 10/10/2017 09:23

Imanaddict - most days I'm hungry. Worse on the first two weeks of diet, gets easier after that. Sugar is the thing that makes me hungrier so I try to cut it out entirely (with mixed success as you'll see!).

Yesterday:

B: apple & nectarine
L: 2 slices wholemeal toast with marmite, a satsuma
S: skinny latte & fondant fancy (FFS! 😳)
D: chicken breast with bulgar wheat, quinoa and mixed veg

W: 1.5 litres
E: walk around town

imaddicted I feel ravenous when I wake up as I usually stop eating at 6pm. I eat a lot of protein which makes me feel fuller for longer but yes I do feel hungry. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing though. I do think that as a society we demonise hunger and most people never feel truly hungry because they don't stop eating for long enough to experience it.

Today's food:

Breakfast: 2 small slices wholemeal toast topped with avocado with chilli flakes and 1 runny fried egg.

Lunch: Skinni wrap pizza with chicken, mushroom, sweetcorn, red onion and BBQ sauce.

Dinner: Salmon fillet with roasted green beans and asparagus.

Snacks: small bowl of Popchips and a small bowl of Fage Greek yoghurt with chia seeds and a few strawberries.

Have already drunk 2 litres of water so going to just sip for the rest of the day.

Redpriestandmozart · 10/10/2017 09:51

I've started to drink a mug of hot water when I get up, my grandparents did this, never knew why but I love it! The later in the day I eat the less I eat that day so I rarely eat before 11am although I have my smoothie at 10am. Some days I forget to eat lunch until 3pm or later but I do drink a lot of water or peppermint tea.

Yesterday I had..

B. small green smoothie
S. 35g overnight oats in soya milk
L. sweetcorn & noodle soup
D. baked potato, hummus, beans & salad

W. 60floz
E. none

greatminds · 10/10/2017 12:45

I have already slipped up and eaten a couple of rich tea biscuits Hmm

Could be worse I suppose... it could have been a mars bar !

JesusTapdancingChrist · 10/10/2017 13:53

Here's the pizza I just had for lunch.

Really delicious and super filling for 277 calories!!

That pizza looks amazing - how did you make it??

Pugwall

1 X Skinni multigrain wrap (91 cals - these things are amazing! Waitrose and Morrison's sell them) laid on foil on a baking sheet. I brush the foil with a tiny bit of oil to prevent sticking.

Passata as the sauce then topped with leftover grilled chicken, mushrooms, red onion, fresh tomato, feta and oregano.

Once baked for 10-15 mins I added 5mls of BBQ sauce.

Obviously you can use any toppings you like so it's one of the most versatile lunch recipes out there!

Could I join please? Long time lurker but in a similar position as lost most of baby weight but can’t shift the last few pounds!

Yesterday

B - oats with skimmed milk and strawberries/bananas from frozen fruit mix (200)
L - homemade leek and potato soup (150)
Small weak hot choc with skimmed milk (150)
S- bowl of oats (150)
D- grilled chicken, mash (no butter, skimmed milk), vegetables, yoghurt (550)

Total - 1200

Babydreaming · 11/10/2017 07:57

Exercise has never been easy for me but I am out with the peak waking around a lot!

I’m hoping this thread will give me some inspiration as I tend to stick to the same foods when dieting and get bored!

Anyone else feel really tired and grumpy when trying to lose weight? I hate hunger. I also don’t sleep as well at night cus I feel hungry!

Redpriestandmozart · 11/10/2017 09:12

Pugwall that pizza looks amazing, I have those wraps in the freezer so going to give it a go at the weekend :)

Yesterday I had..

B. small green smoothie
S. 35g overnight oats in soya milk
L. minted pea soup
D. lentil spaghetti bolognese, broccoli

W. 60floz
E. none

PondLifeinLondon · 11/10/2017 09:18

May I join? I was hoping there was a food diary thread :) I have 2 stone of "baby weight" left to lose (that "baby" is now eighteen months!).

I'm sticking to calorie counting as a lot of trial and error with various diets (low carb, blood sugar, 5:2 etc has shown me that this is the most consistently successful for me and one I can stick to).

Aiming for 1200 calories but won't shoot myself as long as I'm below 1400.

Exercise wise I do a lot of walking - at least 10,000 steps a day. I know I need to do more but hate exercise so much I put it off.

Breakfast: one slice wholemeal toast with 50g mashed avocado - 200 calories

Lunch: Sardines fried with lemon, chilli and parsley - 280 calories

Dinner: Scrambled eggs (3 eggs) with tomato and chilli, served with guacamole (made from the other 50g of this morning's avocado) - 450 calories

Plus I allow myself four cups of tea with semi skimmed milk

Redpriestandmozart · 11/10/2017 09:42

babydreaming just keep active, walking is fine, drinking lots of water, drinking peppermint tea stops the hunger. I'm the opposite I try and eat very similar foods each day, the smoothie, the over night oats and always soup for lunch. Dinner is my highlight, I do something different each night and I keep my weekly average calorie count to between 1000 & 1200 per day. I don't exercise at all (disability) so this works for me.

Babydreaming · 11/10/2017 21:15

Okay so today was more challenging as went to mother in laws and she made lunch

B - oats with skimmed milk and berries (200)
S - small pear (50)
L - baguette, cold meats, smoked salmon, salad, coleslaw, crisps ?550
D- jacket potato, cheese and veg , yoghurt (600)
Hot chocolate. (150)

Total - 1550

Bad but not a complete disaster?! Tomorrow will be easier as at home for all meals!

I drink lots of hot drinks to keep me full!
