Any recommendations for a body fat monitor for use at home?

Are they accurate?

Fat calipers are good - about £10 - but you need someone else to help measure. Usually use a 7 factor formula like Jackson Pollock works well.

Impedance scales are poor at absolute levels but are good for trends. I use a Tanita scale.

Commercially the best are DEXA monitors. But they cost a ton and take up a list of space.

Good luck.

Thanks Olivia. Which Tanita scale do you use?

It’s an old one with an IronMan logo on it. Not sure they make it anymore. It cost around £80. But again it’s not accurate. I use it for “direction of travel” because getting someone else for the caliper measurements is a bit of a tedium.

It has other gimmicky measures on there too. Mostly useless.
