Monday weigh in - yay or nay?

I'm thinking about joining a slimming club but the only class near me that I can feasibly get to is on a Monday evening.
The idea of being weighed on a Monday is worrying me because I tend to be really strict with myself during the week but relax a little at weekends. For example, I'll allow myself a couple of glasses of wine on a Friday/Saturday evening and most Sundays we visit family and tend to have a big roast with pudding.
I know it's all about total calories over the whole week, but realistically my weight can go up and down on a daily basis! I don't want to be miserable and deny myself all my weekend treats, nor do I want to feel guilty about having them!
So is being weighed after the weekend a bad idea? Any experiences? Thanks

I weigh in on a Tuesday. It helps me a lot as it prevents me pigging out —and getting shitfaced— at the weekend.

To be fair, once you get into the swing of things, look at weight loss over time rather than week by week. If you’re doing the right thing the majority of the time then it won’t really matter which day you step on the scales each week. Good luck!

I weigh on a Friday as like you, I tend to relax more at weekends.

psychologically I find a Friday weigh in easier as I have the week to cut back.
I use mfp to count calories and allow more for weekends than during the week.

Saying that I joined ww years ago and got weighed mondays, it didn't effect my weight loss and lost most weeks just a shame I put it all back on again

I don't weigh myself on Mondays for the same reasons as you. I want to be able to have pudding after Sunday dinner mostly!

I weigh myself on a Saturday morning. I find this works well because it stops me hitting the wine on a Friday night!

Thanks all, I'm still not sure if being weighed on a Monday is a good idea or not but I might give it a go and see how I get on!
