Anyone else looking worse naked?

Sounds ridiculous I knowHmmand I definitely look a lot better with my ( new ) clothes On, now I have dropped from a big 18 to a 14, but naked? Before, I had the figure of Winnie the pooh, round and solid, now I look like a normal person to whom someone has stuck flesh coloured play dough all over my lower tummy and upper thighs. Not so much orange peel as full on bag of oranges. Will this ever get better? Is it just fat and if so why is it clinging here? I lift heavy weights and swim three times a week.

I have lost 30lb in 8 months, still a long way to go, and definitely look lumpy. I am struggling to find a bra that fits due to random side boob.

My plan is to get as low as I can, however long that takes, and see if things even up a bit. I have read that if you get down below 20%body fat then your skin should start to shrink a bit - not sure if this is a myth but I thought I would give it a go.

Peonylass · 11/09/2017 00:10

Basically visceral fat, under the muscle wall, will shrink evenly as the muscle wall will pull it in tight. Subcutaneous fat, sitting just under the skin, like on thighs, belly underhang (or whatever that is called) and bingo wings, doesn't get squeezed in as it shrinks, so the skin won't shrink back unless it's gone and it'll look lumpy as it's not compressed but loose.

OP your description of looking like Winnie the Pooh made me laugh Grin

Google "jiggly fat" - you're not alone!

Trills · 13/09/2017 22:26

Anyone who sees me naked is either:

a - in the gym changing room, so they can mind their own business

b - about to get laid, so they had better act pleased

QuimReaper · 13/09/2017 22:38

Sorry - "squishy fat" not "jiggly fat".

crazymissdaisy · 13/09/2017 22:50

Trills you make me laugh! I will try to think of it like that.Grin

@Peonylass I'm not sure how accurate that really is. I'm around 20% and first of all it's a real pain to get there , plus you can start to look gaunt. However the loose skin DOES tighten up a bit but it's very, very gradual (and before you hit 20%!). I've lost 4st, dropped 5 dress sizes and my bingo wings are definitely gone! Yes around my thighs there's some loose skin, but i've been able to make the "mummy pouch" almost disappear.

crazymissdaisy · 13/09/2017 22:54

Peony lass I know exactly what you mean about sideboob. I swear my armpits are B cups at least. Do you mean forward and scoop everything when you bra up in the mornings? I find that helps. But should any gentleman wish to unbra me in the future, I will definitely be keeping my arms by my sides!

I lost 2 stone and gained a delightful saggy wrinkly stomach. The fat filled it out and it looked a lot smoother before. Everywhere else looks better though.

crazymissdaisy · 13/09/2017 22:59

Revolution I'm not at the loose skin stage yet alas, it's definitely fat for me, but weirdly stuck on like someone really pervy has covered my upper thighs/ post cs tummy overhang with cottage cheese and porridge. Confused as long as it goes eventually that's ok. But when I was fatter I was just solid and smooth!

Frills there ought to be some non surgical non invasive tummy iron invented, like hair straighteners, just to smooth it out in the mornings!

@crazymissdaisy. Thanks I tried scooping the side boob into the cups but then I spill out over the top of them (moulded cup). I need to find something with higher sides I think

Peonylass · 15/09/2017 23:02

Revolution that does give me some hope. I have been big for about 30 years so my skin tone is awful to start with. If it looks like crepe paper when I am done, then so be it, but I don't want to still be soft and lumpy by the end

Peonylass · 15/09/2017 23:03

Lol at tummy iron :)
