Can someone recommend me a chocolatey protein shake please?

I want to start including a protein shake in my diet. I appreciate it's probably not going to taste like chocolate milkshake but I'd love it if I could find something that almost does!

My protein mint choc chip is amazing and the chocolate brownie is nice too but mint choc chips delicious.

Myprotein have lots of chocolate based flavours. Chocolate smooth is s safe choice, but you can also order single-use samples to try lots of different flavours to avoid buying a lot of protein shakes that you don't like.

What's the deal with protein shakes, are they supposed to be a meal replacement or something you have between meals to keep you going? Sorry being a bit thick!

I use an organic plain protein powder and add a spoon of raw cacao powder and a squeeze of honey. It's very nice and avoids synthetic flavouring and additives. It does taste like chocolate milkshake but isn't too sweet.

I want to get them to replace my afternoon snack. I've been trying to stick to c1650-1700 cals per day and reducing my snacks. As a result I've been mainly snacking on fruit but they're high in sugars (albeit natural ones) so my thinking is that I could replace some fruit with a protein shake.

Apparently I'm meant to aim for 150g protein a day but I struggle with that as I don't really like meat so I'm hoping it'll be a relatively easy way to increase my protein intake without a huge diet overhaul.

Protein is also supposed to keep you fuller for longer so I'm also hoping that a protein shake will stop me snacking so much generally and keep me going 'til mealtimes!

Same here, I 'm trying low carb but find getting enough protein hard as I don't eat meat. I may give protein shakes a try too then.

How do you know you need 150g protein a day creme?

imjessie · 08/09/2017 14:27

Genuine question but what's the point of protein shakes ? Are they low cal or just low carb ? Do they fill you up for less kcal?

CremeDeSudo · 08/09/2017 15:58

OK I've ordered a selectin from MyProtein. Thanks for the tip!

No chocolate mint unfortunately but I've got chocolate brownie flavour, vanilla and banana, plus a hot chocolate to try.

squirrel You're supposed to eat Xg depending on your weight. I googled 'how much protein do I need', and found an online calculator.

imjessie Answered this above I think. Protein is also good for 'feeding your muscles' I believe? Not that I do much weight training or anything! And yes, they should fill you up for a reasonable amout of cals.
