Hi any Dads here or lady's DP'/DH's successfully get the size of their belly down in their 40's? (and keep it down) After success stories, tips

I need to get back to Slimming World as the pounds did start coming off, but the local meet up always seems to clash with when I need to look after DC's (I guess I should track down a group on different days)

I know I need to stop sugar in hot drinks (harder than quitting smoking!) and sort my outlook/mood so I'm not always getting 'sneaky' chocolate bars.

It doesn't help I feel somewhat intimidated by gyms, I've visited a few now, but not joined.

Gyms will tone you up, but not necessarily shift the weight. You have identified the issue (sugar), so you need to see where you can get rid of some in your daily meals (and permanently!), where you don't miss or notice the lowered sugar. Definitely reduce the hot drink sugar, and look at things like cereals, etc.

A couple of minutes of 'planking' a day is great for stomach tone too, and easy enough to commit to. Start off at 30 seconds (or whatever you can cope with) and increase the time gradually.
