Losing 7lbs in the next 2 weeks!

FlightyMare · 23/07/2017 16:46

So as usual I've left it to the last minute to try and lose any pre-holiday weight - although I can't stick to diets for any length of time so 2 weeks is probably about my limit anyway.

I'm starting tomorrow, and ideally want to lose 7lbs before I go away in 2 weeks. Haven't got a definite plan to follow, but am thinking of sticking to up to 1200 cals a day and see how it goes.

All and any tips/company welcome x

I know apprasier I just ignored the stupid post, it reads like a bad advertisement or something.

Weighed today and have lost 1lb woohoo. Hopefully lose another 2lb this week and 4lbs next week although that might be pushing it.

It's my 30th birthday party on Saturday so there will be drinking and probably hangover food on Sunday.

I've been up an hour and I've not had my shake yet, holding off as long as possible and I'm not actually hungry yet anyway.

kaytee87 · 27/07/2017 11:22

@FlightyMare I'm not too hungry on this SF plan. I have got a headache though but that could be lack of sleep as ds hasn't been sleeping well so I'm shattered.
Have lost 1lb so far, will weigh myself again on Saturday and let you know.

FlightyMare · 27/07/2017 16:24

Appraiser it irritated me too, but I decided to ignore it. It was almost like it was posted on the wrong thread as it didn't really relate to anything else on here!

Thanks for the Blood Sugar Diet suggestion - I just don't think I could realistically stick to 800 cals a day, and it's also recommended for people with blood sugar/insulin issues isn't it? It does seem to be extremely effective for those who can stick to it though.

Your day started so promisingly too Appraiser Grin

Glad you're finding it not too bad Kaytee.

I looked at the blood sugar diet too as my dad is diabetic so i worry for myself but realistically I think 1200 is the least calories I can stick to and even with that I need a day off a week tbh.

Appraiser · 27/07/2017 20:53

I'm not even telling you all what I've eaten 😳😳
Our car passed its MOT and we didn't think it would so we've been out for dinner.

I seriously need to sort my head out with food. Because I know I need to lose it, I can't stop thinking about my next meal 😜

I have done the body coaches' 8 minute ab workout. It will not undo this shite that has entered my body, but I sit here feeling satisfied 😂

kaytee87 · 27/07/2017 21:23

I'll need to look into the 8 minute work out. My stomach muscles still don't feel right and I'm almost a year pp!

Today I had:

Shake
Snack bar
Meal bar
Apple
Quiche & pasta salad

Didn't even have 1200 calories today and don't feel hungry at all. Been drinking a lot of water.

kaytee87 · 28/07/2017 06:56

Another 1lb off with SF, can't believe I didn't try this before. 11st8lbs now hoping for 11st7lbs tomorrow

Fosterdog123 · 28/07/2017 07:22

Room for a fat small one? I want to lose 9lb in 3 weeks but I have a serious sugar addiction going on and so far, haven't even been able to do 1 day of a diet. Shit's got serious though, so I better dig deep, woman up and get this thing sorted. Yesterday was shocking. Chocs and sweets all day (which is normal) and a curry takeaway at night (which is a real one off). I'm 11st 3 and can't fit in any of my clothes. So here goes nothing! Start of a new day and I am on it!!

kaytee87 · 28/07/2017 07:27

Hey foster give slim fast a try, I haven't had any chocolate / cake cravings since I've been doing it. I've been doing it for 2 days and have lost 2lbs

FlightyMare · 28/07/2017 08:52

Welcome aboard Fosterdog - I think it's just a case of deciding what you're going to do, and sticking to it a day at a time.

Appraiser get on it today - just do 1 day sticking to your eating plan. Although I must confess to having a large glass of wine last night when I'd said I was quitting the booze for these 2 weeks. Oh well, I'm back to it today. I'll weigh myself in the morning to see if I've lost anything yet.

Well done on your 2lbs Kaytee, and fab that you're not feeling hungry on it.

kaytee87 · 28/07/2017 08:56

flighty you'll probably be ok with the glass of wine, as I said I had a few beers on Tuesday night and I've still lost this week.
The weekend is going to be tough with my party though - booze & buffet WineCake

doodledoodudu · 28/07/2017 09:02

I agree with justthewayyouare but eat between 8 hours a day (e.g. 10am breakfast, 6pm supper and lunch in the middle) and have 16 hours of no eating. It truly makes a difference. Having breakfast (e.g. Fruit) also aids in weight loss and makes it much easier when you're restricting food

jessicajaine01 · 28/07/2017 09:19

I lost 8lbs in 1 week with no excersise expect a few short walks
Few meals i ate:
-no fizzy drinks
-green tea- 4 cups a day
-weetabix and almond milk for breakfast (sweetened almond milk because i like sugar usually) can add fruit if you like
-nothing pre made
-tuna in spring water and salt&vinegar rice cakes, any fruit or veg
-sugarsnap peas for crunchyness as i like crisps
-rice noodles with grilled chicken, garlic
-no white carbs at all, i find brown rice and pasta taste the same, i now eat these daily

  • no cheese or yogurts
  • nothing fried
  • no sauce or packet sauces etc
  • unlimited fruit and veg to keep you going
  • eggs are good for protein
-sweet potato
Fosterdog123 · 28/07/2017 11:30

Right, well, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm finishing off last nights takeaway today but it's the law that you have to, so, meh. Nothing for tea to make up for it though and and then I'm on the diet boat tomorrow!

Appraiser · 28/07/2017 21:38

fosterdog 😂😂

Ok so today is a little better:
B: nothing as still full from last nights take away 🙈
L: chicken salad sandwich
D: Steak and rocket salad
S: Bakewell tart 😂🙈
Exercise: walk around the gruffalo trail.

Got so much clean / healthy things in, I will do this. Everything JessicaJane says is exactly what i can do, and did do for several months!

FlightyMare · 29/07/2017 09:42

So I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 2lbs BUT it did flash down to the one below, so I'm confident it could be 3lbs by the end of the weekend. Not quite as much as I'd hoped, but not too far off...I don't really want to go drastic next week, as I think I'll only put it back on quicker once on holiday. If I can lose another 3lbs next week, I'd be happy with that.

Any weekend survival tips? I'm going out for a longish walk and am steering clear of the wine tonight.

I've done this workout this morning www.facebook.com/emilyskyemodel/videos/1627995287232022/ well an amalgamation of this one and another one of her full body workouts. Feel good as did it before 9am. Sounds like you've done amazing flightymare. Weekend tips - drink a pint of water now; walk is good. If you're tempted by takeaway, get a dine in for £10 instead, or a posh ready /bung in the oven meal. Not as bad as takeaway and probably tastier!

My breakfast consisted of avocado 🥑 on ciabatta and I'm drinking water. I can see my body changes within a day when I do exercise (I'm one of 'those' people, high metabolism and actually exercising makes a difference), so my ab workout the other night I can see and feel it already. That's the motivation I need!

kaytee87 · 29/07/2017 10:08

Well done on your loss flighty

I'm going to give these work outs a go next week appraiser

Weighed this morning and have put the 2lbs back on Hmm but I've been sticking to 1200 calories or below and my stomach looks flatter (my dh even commented on it this morning) so I'm not convinced it's 'real' weight.

It's my party today woohoo. Feeling pretty good, getting my hair & makeup done later and have a nice dress that hides the mum tum.

FlightyMare · 31/07/2017 12:06

How was your party Kaytee?

I had a mixed weekend - plenty of exercise and no booze, but probably ate a bit more than necessary. I also got a pair of shorts from H&M via home delivery this morning, in a size 12, which is my usual size for bottoms, and they're too small!! Sad

OP posts:
FlightyMare · 01/08/2017 13:45

Forgot to weigh myself again this morning - but I've done a high intensity class at the gym so am feeling good about that. I much prefer to focus on exercise rather than diet, but I keep reading that weight loss is all about diet, and exercise has little impact. But if I'm really only bothered about losing a few lbs, I'm hoping that's not the case (think I might have read somewhere that this is mostly only true if you have 2 stone or more to lose). Anyway, we're now officially into August and my holiday is next week, so I'd best crack on! I'll weigh in tomorrow, but I'm hoping I've lost at least 4lbs altogether now...

Are you still on with the Slimfast Kaytee?

OP posts:
FlightyMare · 01/08/2017 13:47

I'm still feeling really disheartened about those bloody shorts - even though I have 2 other pairs in a size 12 and they fit perfectly well (one pair is actually a tiny bit loose).

OP posts:
kaytee87 · 01/08/2017 14:03

Hey party was brilliant but had a McDonald's and a Chinese on Sunday Blush
Back on SF yesterday but not weighing til end of the week.
H&M are notoriously small so don't worry about those shorts.

FlightyMare · 03/08/2017 11:10

Thanks Kaytee.

So I weighed myself, and I've lost 4lbs so far - I reckon I can lose another 2 before my hol, which I'll be pleased with. I've decided to focus more on healthy eating and cutting out sugary snacks after my hol, as I snack all day long. I've also decided to stay off the wine long term too, even on holiday, as it makes me feel dreadful and has become a bit of a habit.

Really glad I started this, as it's made me look at how I normally eat, and the bad habits that have crept in.
