Hi everyone,

Having reached my heaviest ever weight, I am desperate to do something about it but I am wondering how best to tackle it. I really struggle with motivation and I feel so terrible about myself that I no longer go out or socialise so I thought that a group might be better than doing it alone. A few months ago I went to a SW group and hated I - I didn't feel motivated or inspired and just hated sitting through the dreary conversation about who lost what. unsurprisingly I never went back. In general I have always fallen back on calorie counting so that is what I am thinking this time but given I obviously haven't kept it up long term in the past I'm not sure if that's the best approach either.

What has worked best for all of you? How did you set about making a plan you could stick to?

xx

@gemi33 - I see no one has replied to your question. I can be of some help.
I guess the first great step you've made is recognising that you need to do something. Good for you.
I wouldn't waste my money on weight watchers or similar. It's nothing you can't research yourself.
My questions to you are how much do you want to realistically lose? You just be realistic. If you were never built to be 120lbs don't even try! Do you eat breakfast? What things do you eat in general and what are your portion sizes like? Are you active?
I know how you feel, I put on a lot of weight with my first pregnancy (85lbs) but I lost it all in 5 months by eating smart, exercising smart. I'm at the end of another pregnancy and still put on 40lbs so will have a bit to lose.
Im happy to help in any way I can :)
