I have ZERO motivation.

35 and flabby. 5'6, size 14. I am wobbly and my legs rub. I used to be a massive gym bunny, fit and toned however local gym has closed and life has changed. I haven't exercised in ages and my eating habits have frankly gone to shit. My metabolism appears to have also fucked off.

The only times I have successfully lost weight has been by combining exercise, and limiting my calorie intake to 1000 each day roughly, also alcohol and a takeaway at the weekend and the weight would steadily drop off.

I need a kick up the arse. Dp, rather annoyingly does not care about weight, and even though I have obviously gained a couple of stone in the last couple of years he says I look great (he's one of those that would find someone who's 7 stone equally attractive as 25 stone) he honestly gives zero shits. Possibly part of the reason I feel I have 'let myself go' a bit.

I need an incentive other than my willpower.....Anyone want to jump on board with me for some mutual arse kicking?

Hello SongforSal - me!!!

I am over halfway through the NHS 12-week programme and have ... slipped a bit I guess.

I'm 5'5 and coming down from 12st 2 (size 14-16) - but have been stuck on 11st for the past couple of weeks. I was calorie-counting like a demon but have kindof stopped. Maybe I have to "kindof" start again!

Was doing 1400 cals a day and was steadily losing. Unfortunately any social events throw me right off! Lately I have taken to snacking in the evening again which is definitely not good.

On the plus side, my clothes look so much better on me now! My control underwear is now too big but it was only ever for certain frocks anyway and hopefully I don't need it so much now.

I'm not sure I would be the best arse-kicker in the world, but can give it a go. So, what you got?

BifsWif · 12/07/2017 21:58

Me please! Sick of messing around with this last stone. Sick of wearing control pants, sick of never feeling comfortable and sick of my clothes feeling too tight.

I need some motivation, and quickly. I stick to my calories all day and then stuff my face with chocolate in an evening. I could kick myself.

Amazonmulu · 13/07/2017 07:25

I'm in!

I put on 5!!! Stone with the baby and still have 3 to lose 14 months later...

I've never been this big. I wobble all over. It's gross :( I used to do martial arts and run lots - it seems so long ago... do think I could run a mile.

OH is supportive but also one of those that say "you look great" a lot which is lovely but I have scales and a mirror.

My problem is I'm good all day and then once the baby is in bed I have a million desserts. I guess my other weakness is finishing off her meals :(

I've got 5 weddings in the next year and I really don't want to be the fattest one there.

I lost 1st in January and since then I've been losing the same 5lb over and over again :(

Xxx

I have just started trying to lose weight, I'm 11stone 7 and ideally I'd like to get to 10 stone. Like you, DP is annoyingly not bothered how much I weigh or how fat am I which doesn't help! I have managed to lose 2 pounds this week simply by cutting down on snacking - I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner and nothing else Smile

ocelot41 · 13/07/2017 08:28

Hi, I am in! I am a stone and a half over and nothing fits. I don't feel attractive any more. I have had a hell of a stressful year and got in the habit of comfort eating (and drinking wine every night). I need help! But I HATE dieting - I get such bad headaches. Anyone found a way to avoid that?

PinkPaeonies · 13/07/2017 08:42

Me too please. I have a tiny frame - which unfortunately means that every ounce of extra fat just hangs off me in a the form of a huge unsightly bulge. Blush

I'd say I need to lose 10ib minimum but ideally a stone to leave me wiggle room.

My downfall is that I'm a bit too fond of the 🍷of an evening.

The problem I find is that any change only lasts for as long as the diet lasts. Obvs. IYSWIM. So I'm looking to find ways to tweak what I do on a permanent basis.

I'm going to start with a 30 minute walk every day. And eat all my meals by 6pm. Also considering the 5:2 eating pattern as I know someone who has been transformed by this and it has lasted and is not an unachievable change.

Anyone want to join me or willing to share what are you all going to do?

SongforSal · 13/07/2017 08:57

Yay! Finally some replies Smile

I'll be honest, I have no idea what I weigh. From experience of religiously going to the gym weight really isn't an indicator. I'm going to use a tape measure instead. Stomach, waist, tops of arms, calf's and thighs. A few years ago I would go daily, I looked super toned and healthy, a size 10....yet the scales said I was 12 and a half stone. For that reason, I chucked the scales away as so I wouldn't be a slave to weighing myself daily.

So, today I am going to nibble on low fat crackers, sliced peppers and carrots with a bit of dip. Because tonight I am having a homemade spag bog with a little bit of garlic flatbread. Am going to bulk it out with extra veg and mushrooms and TRY not to add mayo to the side and cheese to the top. No alcohol with my dinner tonight, just water.

For me, I have to eat the foods I enjoy, so they need to be incorporated in any weight loss plan. Everything is your friend in moderation. I did lots of walking yesterday and had a chicken sandwich for lunch. For dinner last night I ate an entire vegetable pizza, and added lots of dried crushed chillies. Felt like a huge feast, the reality was it was only 650 cals for the entire pizza.

I'm interested in 5:2, like you said I need a sustainable change and not something I'll stop as soon as I hit my target.

I've been calorie counting, but I'm interested in maybe counting calories over a week rather than day by day. If I go over my daily calories I give up and eat what I want because the day is 'wasted' anyway so maybe counting weekly is the way to go.

I'm going to try and excercise three or four times a week too.

SongforSal · 13/07/2017 09:10

Also, a few of you have mentioned alcohol. I think that has to go! I have been in a habit for a long time of drinking (not an alcoholic) but I do drink to much. I did resolve to have a few glasses on a Friday night, however I haven't done that this week. A friend came over Monday and I drank a bottle of white, Tuesday I had 3 of Dps little beers, then yesterday evening after tidying the garden I cracked open a bottle whilst pottering in the kitchen.....I didn't even mean to! I am going to a BBQ on Sat, so will have a couple of drinks then. I plan not to touch alcohol next week (won't buy it in with food shop).....It's a bastard for calories, and not kind to the purse! (Or the waist!)

Bifs I like the idea of counting weekly calories. I haven't thought of that. Personally I don't think the 5;2 diet is for me, a lady I know did it once, she was starved on those 2 fast type days, over ate on the others and got even fatter than before she started! It put me off! It may work for some though x

I am following the keto diet and also doing 5:2. I am sweet addicted as in Haribo but hate sugar in drinks or on strawberries etc. I am 5'3 and started this a fortnight ago and I am seeing amazing results. Started out at 79.6 kilos and am down to 75.. I had to find some way of not feeling hungry and it is this research that led me to consider this diet. I am amazed at how well I feel and the sugar high and then the resultant low has gone. I get less hot flushes and it is suppressing my hunger but in addition, I feel weirdly in control and less frenetic generally so at the moment I can recommend this keto lark. It woken me up to other means of improving my health too and so I feel I am definitely on a journey if that doesn't sound too hippy trance? Grin Actually, thinking about it, psychologically the feeling in control bit is vital to going on a diet, of course Hmm

summerlovinggirl · 13/07/2017 11:42

I'm in!! Had DS2 5 months ago and put on 5 stone, I've managed to lose 4.5 stone due to slimming world diet (do it off my own back - no meetings). I'd still like to lose another stone which would put me half stone lighter than pre-pregnancy.
I go back to work soon and my skirts still don't fit Angry so I need to shift more within next few weeks!
I really need to start exercising as well as the diet but I just don't seem to find the time.

SongforSal · 13/07/2017 21:35

OK. Those that want to do it. How about once a week on a Friday night for example everyone sends me their current weight in a private message. I could list it on the Monday for example against usernames and week by week we could give a bit of moral support or share tips about what has worked that week. (or not!). I don't have scales, but the Dc's have a Wii Fit that will weigh me.....and I don't like weighing myself, but will if everyone else is checking the scales! It's not about comparing weight loss btw...Just something to keep focused on like the mainstream diet clubs have.

Yes, I will (but remind me! Memory like a sieve.)

If you like beer but not calories, I can recommend Beck's Blue - alc-free, around 40 cals a bottle.

KasandraAmi · 13/07/2017 23:55

I just started my secon 30 day program on Isagenix. The first time I tried it I had my first son back in 2014, lost a bunch of weight went from size 12/14 to a size 6/8. Then I got pregnant with my daughter and boy oh boy I gained a good 60 lbs that STUCK! So if anyone wants to join me in this that would be great! Last time I did it, I was eating six meals, 3 full meals and 3 snacks and I only exercised like 10 min a day.

BifsWif · 14/07/2017 12:17

Happy to weigh in on a Friday evening!
