I'd love to lose a couple of stone but find that when I'm on my own in the evening I pig out. I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week but have only lost 7lbs in as many weeks. I'm taking antidepressants and wonder if they affect my ability to lose weight although I could also blame this on my polycystic ovary syndrome. However, I think it's down to what I manage to eat in an evening! I can't attend any weight loss clubs as I'm on my own with two young children. I'm just a bit fed up and would appreciate some advice!

Hi Barbie I'm very much like you in that I also have PCOS and i tend to pig out in the evening, no matter how good I've been in the day! I've recently lost the first stone of the 4 I need to lose, by doing WW online and lots of cardio exercise at the gym. My tips so far would be to combine fat-burning exercise with doing weights, as building more muscle increases your metabolism full stop. If you are able to follow WW online (or just get the WW points books off ebay and ask any questions you have on MN), then say if you're allowed 22 points a day, you could save 5 or 6 to consume in front of the tv in the evening! So you could have say bran flakes or weetabix for breakfast, soup and salad and yogurt for lunch, a low points dinner and then have treats in the evening! Everything is possible on WW as long as you plan it in. This is what I do and if I have a good day I can allow myself a creme egg and a small bag of crisps in the evening, yet still stick to my points. Good luck!

I don't know anything about antid's sorry, but this works for me when I am trying to eat less, drink a herbal tea, my usual choice is chamomile - but I know it is not for everyone, but I usually like to eat with a cup of tea/coffee, but not with a herbal tea...

Thanks for the tips! I'm already doing as suggested at the gym so will definately look into the WW online option.
