I've got myself into some bad habits since pregnancy!

When I finished work on maternity leave I got in to some bad habits, it started off with being 'just a bit more' and one extra snack (and these aren't good snacks!), now that I have my second baby I've found it even more tricky to eat healthy and just grab stuff when I can. Evenings are the worst and chocolate is a major part of my evenings activities. This is worsened with my love of any fizzy drink throughout the day! (Full fat of course).
I've come to realise that with 2 children (1 a new baby) I'm not going to go off to a gym, so I'm going to make some simple swaps. (hard core diet plans aren't for me either - my will power is incredibly poor and I know I wouldn't keep to it!)

Each week I'm going to swap a small part of my day to something better. This week I'm going to swap my early morning Coca Cola for a Fruiteatox. ( A herbal tea) I was recommended it by my mum who sits in front of a computer all day and she said it helped with her bloated tummy . Just one in the day, and they're made with all natural ingredients, and apparently it helps burn fat! Seems simple enough. Hopefully I will keep it up!

This is when my bad habits started also.
I got into a bad habit of not eating breakfast but eating loads of the wrong stuff later on.
I made a promise to myself that I would eat a healthy breakfast every morning. So I usually have a banana and yoghurt and I feel that sets me up for the day. And something hearty and home cooked for dinner. So homemade chilli in jacket potatos. And always have homemade soup in the freezer ready to have. I'm gonna see how I get on with that over the next few weeks!

This is exactly what happened to me! And I love a can of full sugar Coke too.
With my first baby I put on 2.5st after I gave birth, took me almost 2 years to lose it, then had my second and the same thing happened!
Evenings are my danger zone, kids finally in bed so I feel I should "treat" myself.
My 2nd is now 20 months and I've only just got a handle on losing the 2st I gained after having her.

I will try that herbal tea as I'm always feeling bloated.
I'm 12lb down so far, taken about 4 weeks using mfp and trying to plan my evening meals helps.
Having 2 small ones does make it harder as they're is so little time for working out, I find the YouTube 20 minute workouts helps.
Good luck op!

Thanks both. Its funny because before my 2nd baby was born i did a huge cook off and froze meals for my DD. I didnt really consider myself.. i should have made some healthy meals for me too!
What a good idea about you tube videos. Ive never been one for the gym.. but a video on you tube when u get a minute to myself sounds achievable!
Ellieboolou27 Let me know how you get on with the herbal teas!

I'm trying to wean myself off sugar, to an extent, I don't believe in totally cutting anything out of a diet as I think it sets you up to fail, whereas if you allow yourself little treats very occasionally it's ok and you don't feel as though you have fallen off the wagon when you scoff a few biscuits and then give up entirely.

I have about 4 teaspoons of sugar in my tea (I just pour it out of the bag Blush), and I drink 10+ big mugs of tea a day so obviously not good and it shows on my skin. Also eating cupcakes every single day... I had hyperemesis for the full 40 weeks of pregnancy so being able to enjoy food and tea again was a big thing, but I lost all my baby weight and have started slowly putting it back on because of lazy food choices. Saw a picture of me with bare arms from the weekend and that has spurred me on to make changes. Switching to herbal tea is one of them, it used to be my favourite but I have been relying on caffeine to get me through the day after nights of broken sleep. That needs to stop. Joining the gym on Friday too as I also need time out of the house.

Ooh I'll definitely going to look at the YouTube workouts. I also quite fancy swimming. Our pool is open til 9 so maybe could do that once kids are in bed and leave DH in charge.
I've been really good the last few days and now 1stone 4lbs down since April. Still got 3 more!

Not purchased the tea yet, glad I didn't as now I can save 15% thank you!
No salad for me too unless it's smothered in mayo served with fried chicken and chips Grin

The workouts I like the best at the moment are:
Pop sugar
Bodyfit by Amy - uses weights for cardio and sculpting, both killers but very effective and results after 3-4 sessions of 20 minutes!

Just me who thinks this whole thread reads like your being paid to advertise it?

Peppermint tea, pound a box, helps with bloating.
