Clean & Lean diet side effects

In an effort to drop my last bit of baby weight, and become a bit healthier I've started following the principles of clean& lean eating (no processed food, no sugar, v limited caffeine, no alcohol)..

It's day 4 now, am really enjoying to the food and I've already dropped a few pounds. However I have a constant headache, it just won't go away. I'm also very very thirsty - although it's hot and I am breastfeeding.

Caffeine wise I'm just having one small cup of green tea a day. Otherwise I'm drinking just water (about 2.5 litres a day). Normally I would drink Diet Coke and squash!

Anyone who's given this up before know how long these effects last?

If you usually drink Diet Coke (and maybe normal tea/coffee), then it might be caffeine withdrawal headaches - depends on the person but most feel much better after a week.

You might also want to up your water intake - I used to suffer with headaches terribly, then made a big effort to drink more water (3.5l a day) - since doing that 8 weeks ago I've only had a handful of headaches, and at the end of the day on those days I've realised that I actually haven't drunk enough!

Definitely caffeine withdrawal. I'm also a relatively clean water and coming off caffeine, even though I don't drink soft drinks it's just a coffee in the morning, felt like a sledge hammer smashing my head! After a week you won't recognize your skin. It's amazing what caffeine does - Your skin will be so vibrant and clear so definitely keep it up it's so worth it.

Wow really?! I'm going to persevere then, maybe up my water intake too. Thought it'd just be a day of headaches then I'd be better!!
