Anyone else really struggling to get motivated?

I've piled weight on due to stress and I'm struggling to find to motivation to get it back off again!

I'm hoping it'll happen over the next few weeks as the thing that has been stressing me ended a few days ago. I think I just need some time to get back to normal and back to my life, I've lost all of my confidence and feel so unattractive.

I've always been a little bit overweight and I really have to dedicate my life to it to lose anything and I just feel too tired!!

Is anyone else struggling or have any tips to get me going?

Prioritise your goals whether it be eating healthier or exercising more. I used to make excuses about not having time but I did find time when I made it my top priority. So in practical terms that might mean that the housework slips a bit because I am going for a run at 8pm whatever happens. For me it means me and DH negotiating on a Sunday so we both know exactly what exercise we're doing throughout the week and who is doing the child care!

This time next week you'll be so glad you started today!

I've planned my meals for tomorrow, that always makes a big difference and may help get the ball rolling again! Smile

I've got a free 45mins on Tuesday so I'm going to do some sort of exercise then. It'll be the first time in a while so I think it might just a be a brisk walk, as it's my confidence that is lacking more than anything!
I think I'll feel stressed about getting straight back into running, so a brisk walk enjoying the fresh air might be a good step then a run to see where my fitness is on Thursday!

Thank you for your message Samoan, it's helped me to feel more excited about getting back to my old self!

I'm in the same boat. It's gone too far now as I looked at myself yesterday and was really upset by what I saw, as oppose for being slightly annoyed by myself but being able to brush it off to all intents and purposes.

Issue is that I feel a bit low, eat as a result, then feel even lower...need to break that cycle.i also have arthritis which can make exercise quite painful and that puts me off.
That said,
I have also meal planned for today and been for a brisk 20 minute walk this morning which isn't much but better than nothing.

Omg - was about to create a thread about motivation when i stumbled upon this little gem.

When i was younger motivation was never an issue... anything that needed to be done i would do, whether it be lose a couple of pounds, complete an assignment for uni etc... but since having the kiddies... I am struggling to have the energy to keep on track, with anything!!! Tbh i don't have any excuses as my youngest turns 9 this year. I have tried booking a holiday with family friends: Even that is not working. The other problems is that we are going with my dh's best friend and gf. And she is like a rake Shock and will make me look like a whale Blush if i don't do something.

I have about 2 stone to loose to be happy with what I see in the mirror. I have tried several diets and my intentions are good in the beginning and then suddenly I will fall off the wagon.... and really struggle to get back on. I really need someone to make me accountable and kick my arse backside in to gear.... I hoping by finding other people in the same boat that we could help each other.... Hmm
