Hi all

I've just come back from my 3rd SW meeting and I've only lost 1lb! I'm gutted. (4lbs in all). I've been really good and really strict and also been to the gym 3 times a week plus a circuit training class once a week for last 4 weeks.

I have drastically changed my diet and am eating loads more healthily and feel slimmer and the scales at the gym say I've lost 7lbs BUT SW scales only say I've lost 4lbs in all.

I stayed at the meeting and told them I was fed up and demotivated and the leader and group suggested that I was doing 'too much exercise' and to go to the gym twice a week instead of 4 times!?! WTF??

I thought the whole point of weight loss is to be more active and get fit and burn more calories.

Am dead fed up cos there were loads of people at the meeting saying how they'd been out for meals all weekend and been drinking etc and still lost 2lbs...argh!!! I've got so much to lose and feel like i'm never going to make it at this rate.

Anyone else feel/felt like this? Should I stick at it and maybe it will come off next week?

HELP!!

Hi Xena - 4lbs in three weeks is a very good, steady weight loss. Nothing wrong with that at all.
I am a Slimming World member. Do you use all your syns? I find that if I really fill myself up on free foods I don't really need any syns. I find I get good losses when I do that. I lost 6lb in one week a couple of weeks back doing this.

Xena, not doing SW (but used too)...but I know what ya mean!
Just remember that muscle actually weighs more then fat. And maybe taking your measurements (Bust, Hips, waist, thighs, arms and lower legs) over a period will give you a much better assessing tool of how well you are doing.
If you feel teh exercise is ajoyable and are happy with doing it....don't listen...just don't overdo it, eh;)
Well done on your 4Ibs weight loss though, better 4Ibs off then on!

Xenabelly, I am like that too.

I hear people say, "I ate what I wanted, I had crisps & chocolate & I lost weight"

I always have to be really careful about what I eat in order to lose weight. I stayed the same 3 weeks ago, then 2lb off, then stayed the same... now this week I weigh-in on Wed night & my betting is I'll have gained about 3lb this week

Agree with 3andnomore - muscles weighs more. Plus those muscles that you've built up speed up your metabolism so you burn more calories when you exercise and also when you don't. Also how are your measurements - exercise'll change your body shape much faster than watching your diet.
