How much exercise do you do in a week?

I'm rejoining the local fitness centre that runs classes. They offer different prices depending on how many classes you want to do and I'm debating which ones/how many to sign up for. Their classes are 45 mins each and it's not far from home so won't take too long to get there. Too far to quickly walk there, but only a 5 mins drive. So basically an hour out of my evening each time.
My DDs are older and don't 'need' me around a lot, but I'm still debating how many times a week to commit myself for being out of the house!

I started just going swimming and walking. As I lost weight I introduced Zumba, then spin. This year I'm doing Strong by Zumba and kettlebells. I do 5-7 hours a week. But I've built up gradually. So could you commit to say 3 and if you are loving/coping then increase that?

I aim for 3 times, but am fairly happy if I make two.

Classes - none. (Reminds me too much of PE.) But I go running 5-6 mornings a week and do 30 mins yoga 5 days a week.
Wtfdoicare · 04/06/2017 20:24
Aim for 30 mins high intensity (usually running) every other day, but sometimes ends up being every 2 days. I'm fitter now in my 40's (just!) than I've ever been.

I run 5k twice a week.
Walk the dog 3 miles 4x a week
Go to the gym 3x week for a combination of weights and cardio.
Try to fit in a Pilates session once a week.

Gym once a week and a 5k+ run once a week. I try to do my 10K steps a day also.

I have a cross trainer at home which I am now able to use on a fairly high setting. I do 5 20 min sessions a week every few minutes of which is high intensity ( as hard and fast as I can - really puffed out and sweating.) I bloody hate it but it seems to do the trick.

I'm a member of my local gym which is a 5 minute drive away. I work f/t so cant commit to any classes during the day. I'm the evenings I do:
Mondays - 1 hour aerobics, 1 hour kettle bells
Tuesday - 1 hour aerobics, one hour weights
Wed - one hour circuit trainin
Thurs - one hour step aerobics
Fri - one hour circuit training (but I often miss this If we are going out )
On Saturday I run for an hour and on Sundays I cycle for two hours with friends

I have committed to 2 classes a week (or rather 10 classes a month) so can sometimes go to 3. I also currently attend a different zumba class somewhere else which doesn't mean committing to it regularly as you can come and go as you like to that one. So that is an extra to continue with.
I also have an exercise bike and a stepper machine that I can use if it gets to the evening and I find I'm not doing a class and I haven't done my 10K steps yet.

PT once a week, gym (weights) 2-3 times, yoga once. Sometimes do cardio (HIIT or boxercise) to a dvd at home. I walk a fair bit too.
DrHarleenFrancesQuinzel · 05/06/2017 22:43
Mondays its bootcamp (1 hour high intensity)
Tuesdays its circuits (1 hour high intensity)
Wednesdays its running (45-60 mins low intensity)
Thursdays its PT session (1 hour weights - unless its nice weather then its outside having a circuits session)
Fridays its circuits again
Saturdays its Parkrun (30 mins)
Sundays its long run day (8-11 miles unless Im running a race - then its 10K to half marathon distance)
Most weeks I miss one out though. So about 6 days a week.

It depends on my work schedule but I aim for the gym 3x a week and synrgy on a wednesday evening. I did start doing more classes but a recent twisted ankle means im easing myself in gym and not going to do classes until im fitter/stronger. I often do another gym session at the weekend so between 4-5 days a week. I would struggle doing it every week as work ft doing shifts so fitting it in can be difficult

Six days a week for 30 mins.
I do the Insanity programme
