I'm not a breakfast person. I don't ever feel hungry until around 11am, and can easily go to 1pm without eating. Last time I tried to lose weight I was having porridge at 8.30am and was starving again by 11. So this time I'm not eating at all until 1pm and then having around a 600 cal meal (today i had a salad with felafel, roll and a jelly pot) and will have similar at dinner.
All the "experts" say no, you have to have three meals a day. But if overall your calorie intake is the same, does it really matter??

If you don't eat regularly your body goes into survival mode and will store fat, also your blood sugar will drop tempting you to reach for sweeter or more carby foods, I tend not to be hungry at lunch so I have a protein filled breakfast such as egg on toast, then at lunch time I will have something small like some nuts, fruit and a yoghurt.

I thought the whole "survival mode" thing had been debunked. People are doing the 5:2 fasting thing which isn't that different?
HairsprayBabe · 22/05/2017 15:41
The above isn't even remotely true. To go into "survival mode" you have to eat a very very low amount of calories for a sustained period of time, months and months.
Google 16:8 fasting, lot's of people have had really good successes on it.
Good luck with your weight loss!

I have rarely eaten before 12 for the last decade, and probably been the most stable time in regards to weight, just need to sort out the alcohol and cake.

Load of bollocks from Music.
I've lost 11kg and kept it off through eating 2 meals a day. I cannot eat until about midday. Normally have a protein-based meal at 1pm and then tea at about 7-7.30pm. I might have a 4pm snack or pudding.
I try to keep my weekly calories at about 9-9500 which allows me leeway for a couple of glasses of wine or a dinner out at the weekends.

I'm currently sitting at 87kg and would be delighted to lose 10kg. We;re going on holiday at the beginning of July (6 weeks today) and if I can lose 5kg before we go I'll be delighted. We are going to America, land of the massive portions, so am fully expecting to gain a little while we're there, but if I can keep to the 2 meals a day thing it might mitigate the damage a bit..
