Lighter Life/Cambridge Diet

Hi

I'd be interested in anyones expereince of this diet or the Cambridge Diet as I understand they're similar. I have LOADS of weight to lose (about 7 stone!!!) and am getting nowhere with WW as I just don't seem to be motivated. I wondered if maybe a "quick loss" diet may be more effective?

How do people get on with it and what exactly is it? Am I right in thinking it is no food at all - and doesn't that mean that when you start eating again the weight just goes back on? My DP is very against it, but I think it may be the answer. Also, how do you find it when you're still having to prepare food for the family?

Any help and hopefully success (or failure!) stories would be very much appreciated.

Thank you anyone.

Yorkiegirl - how many weeks has it taken you to lose that much?

Oh i so want to do this but it is just the cost, i emailed the local counceller & she gave me rices, i think the 1st session was about £40 then about £30 after that, what actually happens do you go to there house to be weighed etc, i am very shy...

mummycan · 27/03/2007 17:50

Well done gtimama and you too Yorkiegirl. Ilost 2.8 lbs last night which makes just under 17 lbs in total in four weeks. I have to up my water intake though. Keep p the good work everyone.

Hi ScooobyDooo. Well, I started the Cambridge Diet just under a week ago. I went to the councellors house and was there for about 40 mins. She chatted to me and explained the whole diet, and weighed me, and I filled out a health form. That was all really. I think some councellors measure you as well?

The diet cost me about £34 and that gave me a whole weeks worth of food. I'd probably spend that much of "crap" before the diet anyway so can't see it costing a lot more than normal. Like I said, I'm on the Cambridge Diet, from what I understand the Lighter Life is much the same, but you meet in a group and it costs more.

Hiya ...
just a little note to say that i've been trying out every fad diet for years and years and years now, probably very much like most of you here. i've only recently heard about LL (im relatively new to the UK as well)...and now i'm looking into cambridge. LL is a bit too steep for me as i am now a stay at home mom with my 8 month old so budget is tight.

Anyways, my point is to just say thank you for having this thread and posting your worries, successes, and issues with both diets, as i'm feeling very inspired and the hubby thinks we may be able to fit it in the budget. ((I mean, after all, it could mean adding years onto my life to be with my family, right?)) One of these plans might be perfect for me...

should i join, i will make sure to post something here of my success, hopefully. In the meanwhile, i notice its been a while since anyone has left posts on your achievements...anyone mind posting a little bit of inspiration?

Hello all

Hope its ok to join, just want some advise.

I am starting cd on sunday, meeting my cdc for the pack saturday. Just wondering is it hard to stick with it, when you have to cook for the family, two young kids 2years old and 5 months old.

Also is it anything like the lipo trim diet, i tried it for two weeks before i got married lost 9lb, i didnt think it was alot for two weeks with out food.
