hi i desperately need to lose about 3 to 31/2 stone and i have done slimming world in the past but only ever lost a stone or so. i did WW 4 years ago for my wedding and got to the lowest weight ive ever got to using a diet so i have decided to give it a go.

i live abroad so i cant go to meetings and DH is being abit stingy about the cost of the at home plan in case it doesnt work so i have decided to use the menu plans from the magazine for a few weeks to see if it works.

could someone please tell me how many points i am allowed on both plans - i am 5ft 4 and weigh 12st 5lb.

also is there anyway i can get points values off the internet for snacks etc as we dont have alot of weight watchers products out here?

Are you breastfeeding? What age are you? It all depends on working out the points you see!

Female = 3pts +
No breastfeeding = 0 +
Age = 21 - 35 = 4pts +
No of stones you weigh = 12pts +
5ft 4in or over = 2pts

= 21pts??

If you are older you will get 3 in stead of 4 points, and if you are quite active you get extra points.

So, are you sitting down most of the time? 0 pts.
Occasionally sitting, mainly standing? 2 pts
Walking most of the time? 4 pts
Doing physically hard labour most of the time? 6 pts.

Don't know about getting points values online but you can get a shopping guide with loads of values for about a fiver.

Also 100 calories is about 1.5pts.!

HTH!

You should be allowed 22 pts a day, vnmum.

i am still breastfeeding my 15 month old but he only has about 4 - 6 feeds aday. i walk with him but i am not that active although i have just ordered a cross trainer to try and get fit but i was just going to count any points i earn through exercise as bonus points to use if i want.

i am 30.

Using the questionnaire in the ww book, I get your points total as 28pts per day. Agree that weight will fall off quicker if you don't use your bonus points.

what about milk allowance. i am using soya milk at the moment as DS is dairy allergic, how does that compare to the amount of cows milk i could have?

Did you see my message?

I think with the breastfeeding I have you at 26-28pts a day.

LittleSarah · 04/03/2007 13:31

I don't know what soya milk is but if you check the calories you should be able to work it out.

LittleSarah · 04/03/2007 13:32

Sorry you obviously did see my message hence the info on breastfeeding and stuff!

Sorry!

Also agree with littlesarah, vnmum, try to get yourself a ww shopping guide (and maybe an eating out guide, very useful too). It'll cover points for almost everything.

soya milk - 1.5 pts per half pint (284mls)
cow's milk per half pint/284mls is :
whole - 4
semi-skimmed - 2
skimmed - 1

vnmum · 04/03/2007 13:38

teh soya milk i use is per 100ml:
43 kcal
3.3g protein
2.8g carb
1.9g fat 0.3g saturate i think (its in german)

its alpro calcium enriched sweetened soya milk

thanks for the help so far everyone, i can start tomorrow hopefully

thanks, at least the soya milk is fairly low in points.

im hoping to move back to uk within a few months but if i can prove to DH that WW works for me then he may well let me pay for the at home stuff so i can get all the books id get in class, then he would let me get recipe books etc aswell
