Losing weight issues

I think I would like to lose weight but it's got loads of issues related to it. I can't go to a group because it brings back flashbacks of how angry my ex got when I last went to one (he wanted to go somewhere but the leader wouldn't let me leave without telling me off for not losing any weight).
I tried to do it online but got all panicky (cue more flashbacks).
I guess I could try getting some exercise but the idea of having anyone see me trying to exercise is terrifying. Is there any hope?

Of course there is! i am sorry that your ex has left you with anxiety, have you received any help for that?

I can't abide the idea of weight loss groups. Weekly weigh ins and wittering on about muller lights!fuck that for a game. Although i am considering ww online.

Just now i am doing "my fitness pal" its an app for your phone. Dead simple, jyst type in what you eaten it gives the calories and you have a limit per day based on your activity level , weight and diet goals.

Youcan also record exercise. It then tells you how much weight you could lose based on that days calorie intake.

I've lost a stone in 5 weeks.

I also don't want to exercise with others ao i use my home gym equip (slthough i broke the treadmill Blush) all evay bargains. i do run outside and im a big girl (size 20) but i do get embarassed. Walking is good exercise and noone bats an eyelid at someone walking down the road.

What are your goals?

maybe talk to your dr they may be able to offer a weight loss/exercise programme via the nhs. More importantly they will help with the anxiety (i speak from experience )

Thank you for replying. I will have a look at that app. Walking can be like a sneaky way of getting exercise? Hmm... sounds a lot better than running and jiggling all over the place.

My fitness pal and walking is how I lost 2.5 stone a few years ago.
I'm back starting it today after putting it all on again plus more Blush, it's free, discrete and works.
I joined ww and sw last year and couldn't stick with either.

Something similar to My Fitness Pal plus walking (I use a Fitbit) is what I'm doing this time and I've lost 29lbs in 13 weeks so pretty much the 2lbs a week I'm aiming for.

I am totally done with weigh loss clubs sand will never set foot in one again.

Walking is a great weight loss exercise. And if you want to attempt running you can have a little jog every so often if nobody is looking. Nobody will bat an eyelid. Good luck.

I listen to music to keep my pace up, downloaded a running music album. A Fitbit is a good help as you see your calories out a d ah so then easy to link up with calories in and you can play around with the deficit depending on what you have on.

Eg. Christmas Day I ate 3200 calories but walked the dog a long way so only overate by something like 250 calories. Boxing Day I had a calories deficit of 250 so effectively ate what I burned off over the two days, then went on to lose 1.5lbs the rest of the week rather than gain goodness knows how many pounds over the week.

I got to work so early today that I think I'm going to try and start up a wee bit of walking as exercise before work. I don't think I could go to the doctors again. Last time I hit weighed the doctor told me I didn't need any help even though I'm well into the obese or 'very overweight' as they call it now category.
