here

says it all - it's based on sat. fat and calorie content of food - you can either follow plan where nothing is banned and you count Points or can eat from Core group of foods and use Points for a few treats.

most veg are free, everything else has a points value and you are allowed so many points per day.

There is also a 'no count' version where you are allowed to eat any of the free foods on the list but musn't overeat.

It's dead easy and it works. All foods have a points value. No food is banned and you are allowed a set number of points each day. You can earn more points through exercise if you want to. OR... you can do the 'core plan', where you can eat anything off a list of food (pots/lean meat/fish/pasta/rice... no bread!) until you feel full. Lots of people get on with it... I don't - if i could stop eating when full I wouldn't have a problem in the first place

I have lost nearly 3.5 stone on the points plan since June last year though
