20kg in 2017

I've been feeling really glum about my weight recently (body in general actually) and I've decided to try and lose 20kgs. I was wondering if there is anyone else looking to lose the same amount?

I have a big event in May so I'd like to be around 12 kgs lighter by then.

I plan to cut my portion size, eat healthily and exercise more frequently. Also do some strength and toning instead of just cardio.

I finished the race - just seen the photos, I look so fat. Quite disgusted with myself. Not a great weekend otherwise in healthiness as i ate wrong, drunk wrong, and well, got out of my routine.

I've also gone up on the scales. Not sure what to do, arghhh, may try new techniques tomorrow and really up the exercise levels. So, I am not liking the new scales!!

We have snow forecast here - and we are moving house (ha ha ha). May be quiet over the next few days because of it all.

No update on the implant issue yet.

20 kg is a good weight loss goal for me too. I'm 105 ish and not looking too closely at the scales currently ... they are a dodgy set too in fact. I think I got back to mid 80s after my youngest was born, then about a year later started gradually putting weight on (lifestyle reasons ++) and have been hovering around this point for a few years now :( I remember being measured at 104 at my last check before said child was born ...

Walked to his school and on into town today instead of taking my bike (needed to take a forgotten hockey stick in!). Walking most days would be a good goal to start with, oh and also ignoring chocolate and crisps ...

I've several dresses I'd really like to get back into; that's a good incentive I need to start being more serious about.

Oh Mountain don't worry about post race photos, I find they are always massively unflattering. Only marginally better than mid race photos when in my case you can literally see my flabby tummy moving with a life of its own and my face is red like a tomato. Important thing is you finished the race, well done!

I'm thinking of chucking out the scales as after a week of being really Very Good they still indicate 77.2. Grrrr so frustrating. Can't believe it. DH has lost a kg - he always loses weight faster. Doubly frustrating.

Tonight is going to be trouble as I have my posh dinner, and the weekend is yet again full of social events involving cake and wine no doubt. Must stay strong in spite of frustration with scales.

On a more positive note the personal trainer sounds promising - he says that even a couple of sessions per week (one with him and one by myself) will make a massive difference to my shape. I'll believe it when I see it but can't help feeling hopeful and dreaming of looking slender in summer dresses...

Python you're on the right thread, I massively struggle with losing the weight after number two. Not helped by having two c sections so very unattractive belly thing going on here...

How's everyone doing? No progress whatsoever here - scales still say 77.2. They must be broken Hmm.. Frustrating after all that healthy eating, although admittedly Friday night was a diet disaster involving wine, bread rolls, potatoes, pudding and baileys!!

Very good personal training session today though - really working those core muscles which is exactly what I need. Plus have been very good and only had chicken soup for lunch so surely tomorrow will be the day when I dip below 77??

Hi Everyone,

I've not been on the scales for a week so idea how I am doing. I'm quite busy (really busy) with work at the moment so I've been snacking a lot sadly.

Marzipan sounds like you are doing really well - Im glad the PT is working out for you (anychance that the lack of weight gain is because you are gaining muscle?)

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Hi fellow healthy eaters? Any news? Hope the weight is dropping off...

Very slow progress here (76.4 now) but that's better than no progress I suppose. I'm feeling great about all the exercise I'm doing, but weekend eating is really setting me back. I seem to be unable to 'allow occasional treats' - all bets are off on weekends really. Must try harder!
