I need a detox. I need one fast. 2 reasons. To kick start healthy habits again, ban takeaways and lose a few pounds (that was 3!)

I don't agree with MLM but what about the actual product?

Any success stories? For and against debates?

I DO need something drastic.

This also will help with a kick start to "kicking the booze"

The actual product won't do anything for you that you couldn't do yourself without spending the money on the MLM crap but starving yourself is not a sustainable or healthy way to lose weight.

I just need a jump start to get the shit out of my body.

Just spend a week only eating veggies and drinking water

@IC yes I think that is the way, give myself a 5-7 day detox of water and veg, salads, veg soups etc ... lean meats?

A lot of people on MN have had success with the blood sugar diet. Google it. It's tough for the first few days but the weight loss is dramatic

I've done C9 and quite enjoyed it. It's brutal for the first few days as you don't eat any solid food and you go through the inevitable "detox headache" but by the end of it I'd lost about 7lbs and felt great. The only problem is, then what? If you haven't got a plan then you'll just slip back to your old patterns of eating like I did

I think if you want a "kick start" to a long term diet plan you could do a couple of weeks going alcohol and caffeine free, drinking 2l of water a day, ditching processed food and restricting your calories to 1000 to 1200 a day. You'll find that much more beneficial to start a longer term healthy eating plan than relying on shakes and supplements.

You have kidneys and a liver. They do your detoxing. You don't need one.

Try a sensible and sustainable way of eating. Blood sugar diet or 5:2, weight watchers, cutting out sugar...whatever works for you.

I understand that you think a week of strict "detoxing" will kick start the new you. However it's more likely to put you off or worse - make you believe you deserve a few treats when you've completed it.

I'll be back on 5:2 after the Christmas break in January. I find it fits in well with my lifestyle.

The concept of detox is in itself deeply flawed. There is no build up of "toxins" that cause weight gain and that are miraculously flushed out by drinking some green shit. If you have a functioning liver, no need to detox. If you don't have a fully functioning liver, drinking some aloe vera liquid peddled by huns won't do a thing to fix that.

A friend was selling the Clean 9 and I bought it. Didn't last past lunchtime on day 1! The aloe Vera was vile. Vile.

It's mainly laxatives, overpriced at that. Don't do it. Just eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, exercise, drink water
