Carb addict here

Mybeautifullife1 · 02/12/2016 11:40

Hello. My name is mybeautifullife1 and I am a carb addict.

I prepare healthy food, eat it but I'm not satisfied until I've eaten some carb laden rubbish. Ideally sugar laden. I then feel crap. 1. Because I need to lose weight. 2. Because I've let myself down. Again. And 3. Because physically it makes me feel horrible.

So I'm going cold turkey. No "oh it's just a square of chocolate" or "it's just one biscuit" because it never is.

So, has anyone beaten serious carb addition? Any advice? Anyone want to join me.

Hi, you sound quite similar to me! I'm almost 3 weeks into a new eating regime, and haven't had ANY sugar at all in that time. I'm 100% sticking to my plan, and I'm finding that eating satisfying meals at regular intervals along with having all my food planned out in advance is really helping me this time.

What are you planning on eating?

Mybeautifullife1 · 03/12/2016 22:12

Well done you breakingbod. I'm having eggs and tinned tomatoes for breakfast. Sometimes bacon too. I find then I don't want anything else til dinner. If I can't wait I'll have salmon, avocado and salad leaves with a massive dollop of lemon mayo. I then have a proper dinner but I'm trying to really limit root veg too.

I do actually feel less tired when I eat like this. And I think you're right about the planning. When I'm tired or hungry I make really poor choices.

What are you eating?

I'm addicted to carbs too Blush I bloody love bread! And cake ...

I need to lose at least a stone. I hate the way I look, have a huge tummy and round face and all my clothes are tight.

I'm going to cut out bread and cake for a start. I really struggle with breakfast though. I can't eat cooked food in the morning and don't like eggs or bacon anyway. I also don't eat yoghurt. I'm really stuck unless I have muesli or cereal of some kind.

Carbs are not bad for you.
Ditch the sugar, the biscuits, the cake

But eat bread/muesli/potatoes in normal quantities.

Going carb free is not long term sus sustainable

Mybeautifullife I'm not eating heavily refined carbs or added sugar, but I am still having healthy carbs like potatoes and root vegetables. I'm following a diet plan from Freedom Diet Coach, which is an online thing where I filled in a questionnaire and they produced me a diet plan. I specified no sugar. So for breakfast this morning I had a berry smoothie, but I sometimes have porridge with fruit, muesli, or eggs.

Get yourself some dinner recipes planned out and decide what you're going to have each day - having a nice dinner to look forward to really stops me from wanting to snack. I'm having a roast chicken dinner today and am already looking forward to it!!

I know it's early days but I have had so much energy today it is unbelievable! I think I've spent so long eating crap and having the carb high and then crash, I'd forgotten what it was like to have sustained energy.

Still feeling tempted by sugary stuff but less so.

I do need to plan some meals though.
