I'm just into the 3rd week of the CD and although I've lost a total of 7cm off waist and 8 off hips, I've only lost 8lbs in 2 weeks. The problem is, it all goes well until I see some left over pasta on DS plate or a bit of brioche from my DD's breakfast. I don't know why but I'm not even hungry but am really craving carbs! Anybody got any good tips to help stop me from nibbling? My husband is in Afghanistan until June so I've got no physical support at home to say "No don't eat it"!!! He's very supportive over the phone but it's not quite the same.

luciemule, i can't give any advice as i have not yet started the CD, i am procrastinating! but have you seen there is another thread dedicated to CD? there seems to be lots of advice and support to be had on there.
also, 8lbs in 2 weeks sounds great that's a stone a month which is what my CD counsellor advised i could lose. don't give yourself a hard time, you are doing great! i will be on that thread i mentioned myself sometime next week when i eventually begin the diet!

What's CD? Haven't seem other thread.

I thought that 8lbs in 2 weeks sounded ace too.

I kind of missed out that I lost 6lbs in the first week and only 2 in the second!
What is the other thread Devonshire?
I think I haven't quite got my mind around the fact that this is possible. My target loss is about 3 stone and I started at 12.10 but it must have been about 10 years since I weighed 10 stone. It's freaking me out a bit and I'm really worried that once I finish the diet, I'll go back to eating too many carbs! Will look for new thread anyway - thanks for what you wrote - I feel more positive now.

there are also CD threads 1 and 2 in this topic section, but they got quite big so new ones are started. i am just a lurker on said threads at the mo!
i have never been 10 stone since i was about 12 yrs old!! i have about 5 stone to lose so i am fighting a big battle too. i can't bear the idea of being on a diet for months and years, i want a quick fix!!
any idea why only 2lbs in the second week? does it make a difference how much water you drink? does it have bad consequences if you do succumb to a wee nibble of proper food, cos i know i will be sorely tempted!!

hi Devonshire - the 2 lbs in second week was probably due to me cheating and eating on the saturday before being weighed on the wednesday. I didn't eat meals or anything but picked a couple of bits of pasta and cheese sauce from kid's plates! Also though, counsellor said I'm not drinking enough and that my period (last week) would have made a significant difference (I guess it means you retain more water or something). I thought evenings would be the hardest for picking but actually,I never feel like eating at night whereas befoer the diet, I often grabbeda bowl of cornflakes at 9pm or celery and hummous during EastEnders! My problem is portion size rather than an unhealthy diet. I kind of thought as long as it was healthy, it didn't metter if I ate it!
