Hi
Can I please join in your weight loss club I am at the moment 15st 3lb which was a bit of a shock but I am getting married in Dec and am aiming to get to 11st, would love any advise

Emzickle · 05/02/2007 21:55

I wiegh 12 st 4lb, and I was 14st 7lb 16 weeks ago, ha ha...gave birth to a 6lb 13oz though, quickest weight I ever lost.

Furball · 06/02/2007 08:48

I'm still 12 stone 1 lb, grrrr. Though I did make and have a toffee apple pie complete with scrummy creamy custard and have a couple of fairy cakes. It's made me feel like trying extra hard this week

HeavyBee · 06/02/2007 10:59

Well, I'm still stuck on 9 st 6lb. I have tried, but evidently not hard enough. Still, I'm not putting it on, I guess that's something. The pie sounds wonderful, Furball, my mouth is watering at the thought. Sigh....

Welcome, Emzickle, and also Glenfield, thre are lots of people here doing much better than me who will give you advice! We weigh in on Tuesdays or Wednesdays and I send out a chart on Thursdays or Fridays so if you want to be on that, let us have an email address, and I'll put you onto the list.

Crazydazy · 06/02/2007 13:14

I would like to join and any advice gratefully received.

I am 35 on Tuesday and weigh 10stone 5lb. I am very unhappy with this and want to lose some weight desperately as I am getting married on 1 June in Cyprus. My wedding dress is quite tight and need to have my final fitting in around beginning of March so I haven't really got long. I go swimming Wednesday and gym on Friday which I have only been doing a couple of weeks.

I want to lose a stone at least by May - unrealistic?????? I just cannot eat well though, thats my main problem, not very keen on fruit and veg but can eat it.

Am going to buy some porridge though, just seem to love snacking and cannot break the cycle.

tortoise · 06/02/2007 13:20

Oh i forgot to weigh in again. I'm going to put the scales upstairs and set a weekly reminder on my phone. Not done too bad this week except for chocolate and wine treat last night.

Furball · 06/02/2007 14:31

blimey tortoise you are good - I struggle not to weigh myself EVERDAY!

willandsamsmum · 06/02/2007 23:29

Furball - I do weigh everyday (and have been known to weigh before and after a wee!!) which is probably a bit OTT really.

Still 13st this morning so no change this week. AF is due anyday though so I think that's part of it. I'm also having the urge to eat everything in sight which is another thing I get at AF time. When I feel like I might eat something that isn't that great, I'm either having a glass of water or a rice cracker or just getting the hell out of the kitchen (makes cooking tea a bit tricky though )

Crazydazy - porridge is great. I make mine with 2/3 water 1/3 semi-skimmed milk with no sugar but a handful of raisins or chopped dried apricots thrown in to sweeten. I cook it on the cooker (rather than the microwave) and let it simmer for 8-9 minutes and that makes it really creamy. I'm generally full until lunch then and less likely to snack through the day. I haven't had it for the last two days though for one reason or another and I've been hungry by 11am and slipping a bit. Congrats on the wedding btw. My sister is moving to Cyprus in a week the lucky thing.

Welcome to Emzickle and Glenfield.

Liv321 · 07/02/2007 00:53

Hello all

Have moved house - hurray! Have not yet unpacked scales - hee hee! Have eaten lardy take-outs for last four nights as can't get into kitchen to swing a lettuce... and strangely have no desire to change these last two

Welcome Emzickle and Glenfield.
Good luck all

pesme · 07/02/2007 09:29

hi everyone. i am 10 2.6 today. it was dh's birthday at the weekend so there was much eating of cake and drinking of fine wines. still i hope to be down to 10 for my birthday in 2 wks.

good luck everyone else.

tortoise · 07/02/2007 12:47

Well, All i can say is im a bug fat lump! Slowly putting on more each week. This is not good.

pesme · 07/02/2007 16:58

tortoise give yourself a break, you have had alot of stress. (i don't normally do this but) hugs!

Smalline · 08/02/2007 09:35

At last 1 whole lb off this week taking me to 11st 12lbs.
Tortoise you are being too hard on yourself, I'll bet that people around you do not see you as you do. Welcome & congratulations Glenfield, Emzickle & Crazydazy.
I'm going to try porridge this morning with honey and raisins. Crazydazy I don't think that a stone by May is unrealistic, but it is going to take some work, when you feel like snacking, think about why you want to lose weight, think about how you want to look on your wedding day, you don't have to cut out the snacks just change them a bit, raisins, fruit etc.
Well done and good luck everyone.

Tortoise - {{{hugs}}} You sound so down.

Smalline - That's what I've been doing when I've been tempted by snacks. Actually stopping to think about it each time has worked. I have had a couple of biscuits but i've limited myself to one each time (rather than half the pack like before) and it was a decision instead of habit.

I've bought a pedometer and have changed my focus from food to how many steps. Have managed 14,874 so far today, way more than I thought I did.

HeavyBee · 09/02/2007 12:12

Apologies all round - back trouble means I can't sit down to update the chart, but it should be with you by the end of this weekend. Tortoise, thinking of you, I send a hug too!

DimpledThighs · 12/02/2007 15:44

HELP!!

Anyone around?

I am having a crapola day - been stuck in six days on the trot with ill ds, ill me and now ill dd. I have taken solice in nipping to the co-op and came back with hot cross buns, biscuits and chocolate. I have done well up until now, but have already had a huge pasta lunch left over from last night and am planninghuge salmon and potatoes tonight - what has happened to me!

Rescue me!

DimpledThighs · 12/02/2007 16:47

1 bar of choclate, 2 hot cros buns and two biscuits down - and sinking fast.....

HeavyBee · 12/02/2007 21:48

Dear all

Apologies for being so late with the chart, I've just sent it. Say if you were expecting it and it doesn't arrive. Dimpled Thighs, don't panic, this is caused by being stuck in the house, and as soon as you can get back out again and everyone feels better things will improve. Try not to eat the whole packet of biscuits - but if you do, don't buy another....

jambuttie · 13/02/2007 08:42

12 1 for me this week ladies

good luck everyone
