hi. i was just wondering whether anyone is trying to lose weight whilst ttc? for the past couple of months i've been pigging out thinking that i'll be pregnant soon so it doesn't matter. i want to stop that attitute. so i want to start a 'diet' which will have one of two possible results (a) i get pregnant and am able to regulate my eating so i don't pig out and i eat healthily or (b) i don't get pregnant but lose a couple of stone (slowly). i have been thinking of joining slimming world as i heard that you can do that when pregnant as there are so many 'free' foods that you can eat as much as you want of. anyone got any advice for me? i should mention i'm probably about 3 stone overweight and i am a little concerned that will reduce my chances of conceiving.

hi!! not ttc so cant offer advice there, but having been overweight and p/g twice I can tell you I hated it immensly also it is really hard to loose weight after baby is born when you was so overweight before. Also you are considered to be at risk
anything you do to boost your chances of conception will be good so good luck to you.

Sort of...Am 9 months post pregnancy and have lost 1 1/2 stone of three stone (minimum) I need to lose, but also with the long term aim of ttc too ,later this year, as I'm also concerned about reduced chances of conceiving and carrying excess weight while pregnant.

I'd definitely recommend getting your eating more under control before pregnancy, but One word of warning - I was eating pretty healthy before pregnant, but then found it really hard because I just didn't fancy a lot of the healthy foods I was eating before because of the nausea feelings and so I just started eating junk, can't believe the c* I ate while i was pregnant and sure it made me feel more tired too. Next time I intend to be reaLLY strict with myself and plan lots of healthy options.
