I'm doing a 90 day challenges- anyone want to join me?

Over the past month I've done next to no exercise, I've drank like a fish every night and have put on about a stone.

I'm giving myself 90 days to get back on top of things. That takes me until 5th November. I want to lose 15lbs but I'm not all that focused on the weight loss- I just want to feel healthy, better and in control.

If I can get things under control and feel better in 90 days that should give me more restraint heading into the Christmas build up and help me to feel better as the nights start to get longer.

Anyone want to join me? What do you want out of the 90 days?

As well as carbs I've obviously lost spelling ability-that for hat and beat for best ha!

Glamorousglitter · 21/08/2016 23:46

Can I join too ? On way to bed now but tonight I started healthy eating plan so this would help me with motivation to stick to it and ignore th chocolate bars will post in the morning

Hello cheese and dollface and glamourous

Sounds like you're all doing well so far. The more the merrier!

I'm on day 14 of my 90 day challenge and I've lost 5lbs. Woohoo! I've also been swimming as much as I can (3 or 4 times a week) so I feel like my wobbly belly is much tighter. Woohoo!

I've been drinking loads of water and eating really good food for the last fortnight. I feel much less tired and generally more enthusiastic for life!

I actually decided that, for me, it was going to be better to split the 90 days up into different phases. The prospect of 90 days straight through is daunting!

So, I'm doing phase 1 until day 21. In phase 1 I'm hitting it as hard as I can. I'm doing as much exercise as I realistically can and keeping my calories as low as I can without depressing myself. So, I'm hitting about 1200 calories in the week and 1700 at weekend. Not drinking at all for the first 21 days.

Then phase 2 is just easing up a little bit. Perhaps an extra hundred or so on weekdays and a couple of glasses of wine on Saturday nights but still aiming to lose another 4ish pounds in phase 2.

Let's keep the motivation up. We're all awesome Grin

Well done 90!!!
5lbs is fab. Sounds like a really sensible plan to break it into phases.

I've not weighed myself since Saturday but my clothes feel looser and my tummy seems flatter so I'm happy with that. I would love to lose 5lbs by my birthday at the end of September so fingers crossed it'll start coming off soon.
I should really be more disciplined at the weekend but I find I throw in the towel too easily when I push myself too hard so I'm still using my weight watchers points system with weekly points and using them at the weekend to get me through.

90daychallenger · 22/08/2016 13:04

Thanks LittleBee

I find I throw in the towel too easily when I push myself too hard Amen to that! That's why I've had to do these phases. If I thought I'd be pushing myself this hard for the full 90 days I'd just say 'ah bugger it' and have a bar of chocolate or seven Grin

Lol defo. I let myself have a fun size chocolate with tea every night after kids are in bed and a glass or two of wine once a week but I'm finding I'm not even missing the wine now. I was having wine every day!
The less I have it the less I miss it so that's making it easier.
My problem is I'm an emotional eater and will eat as a reward or deprive as a punishment depending one what's going on around me. I need to break that habit once and for all. X

90daychallenger · 22/08/2016 15:03

LittleBee Well done. I don't miss the wine at all actually. I think I miss the ceremony of wine more than the actual wine itself. I love opening a bottle of wine and sitting in the dining room chatting with DH over a bowl of crisps on Saturday nights. The wine and snacks I can do without but I do miss the whole 'event' and sparkling water with lemon just doesn't cut it Grin

Hello ladies, well I've been low carbing since Saturday and I weighed myself this morning and have already lost 2lb! I'm ecstatic. I joined the gym on Tuesday and had a great induction and really talked through what i feel I need exercise wise. My programme is approx 30mins - v realistic. Got to go like hell on a watts bike for 17 mins, working at increasing the speed in intervals of 2 mins, then blasting it for a minute etc. then 10 mins of kettle bell work and ending with sit ups and some Russian twists with the kettle bell.
I thought I was quite fit as I cycle, walk a lot and go to a bouncer-cise class but my legs certainly know when I've been on the watts bike! I'm aiming to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. It's 5 mins from my house - I feel I can manage this now I'm in the zone!
Low carbing is relatively easy but I feel I may get bored....will have to be careful...
I have found it very easy to be honest as eggs and salmon around 11:30 absolutely keeps me full. I have been having no more than 55g of carbs a day which is pretty easy but a whole lot less than I was eating. I am missing sweet things though - I like fruit and yogurts. It's Unbelieveable how many carbs are in things you just wouldn't expect. I feel much better this week and get positive.
The gym instructor/advisor said my body has got used to the exercise it was doing and as we get older we just need to do more to stay in shape - and if I want things to change then I have to make the change.
Really going to try! 2lb since Saturday - I'm so happy about it!

90daychallenger · 26/08/2016 09:30

Cheese 2lb since Saturday is brilliant. Your low carb and gym regimes sounds excellent and realistic. Massive well done to you. The tone of your post is very enthusiastic.

I'm on day 19 of my 90 day challenge now. I'd originally planned to have the first 21 days as a really hard core phase 1, then move on to phase 2. However, it's a BH weekend and we're going to see friends, we have some friends coming over and it's basically going to be impossible. So, I'm going to try and be as sensible as I can and not do anything completely crazy like order a take-away but I won't be under calories over the weekend and I might put on like point something of a pound.

So, phase 2 is going to be pretty much the same as phase 1! I'd planned to ease up a little bit for phase 2 but I want to make up for this coming weekend. But that's fine, I'm enjoying the food I've been eating, not drinking has been great, getting more water has made me feel much fuller for longer and I'm glad I've got right back into regular swimming.

So, at day 19 I've lost 6lbs Grin

I'll likely check in on Tuesday morning to let you all know the damage Blush

Wow 90daychallenger 6lb by day 19. Wonderful! I've been to the gym today again and smashed 14000 steps too. Loving my low carbing. Feel really good, so easy but like I've said I am missing fruit and yogurts! Out with girls tomorrow, I'm going to stick to a few gin and slim lines Halo and no doubt the dancing will burn off a few cals. I'm looking looking forward to weighing myself in the morning, I feel I may have dropped another 1lb. It's incredible how just making the changes makes you feel better, I feel more confident in my gym gear already just knowing I'v had a healthy week and a good start towards being fitter by 44 (oct 25th)!

Rochellen12 · 29/08/2016 01:23

Hi i was wondering if i cud join this thread...well im on day 6 of this plan..i bought a book in this charity shop called i can make you thin in 90days by paul mckenna..
Basically this is not a diet although you lose weight
So there are four rules...
1..eat when you are hungry
2..eat what you really want
3..eat consiously
4.. Stop when your full

So what you do is you look in your fridge and presses and get rid of food you dont really want to eat that includes sugar free and diet free unless you really like it..
Next... You can eat whatever you like whether its chips burger or cake... Aslong as you follow those 4 rules...
Get to know your body when its truly hungry and wants food,,i myself found out i was eating more so out of boredom and craving than actually enjoying what was going in..and iv tried numerous diets were i was miserable and felt guilty for havin any chocolate even on a cheat day and the diets made me focus on food way to much and the more i wanted to eat of the food forbidden to me the more i ate and craved it..it was absolute agony feeling guilty and goin to bed thinkn oh i can start tomoro and knew in my heart id fail again

Now iv been doin this 6 days iv listened to my body..iv sat down and consiously ate and chewed one mouthful 20 times and its best to put knife an fork down after each mouthfull,, and i noticed i was eatin 1/3 or what i would have normally eating..if an hour or 2 passed and i felt peckish id drink water and if after 20 mins i felt the same i would eat the same way again no matter wat it was aslong as i stopped wen i had enough and not stuffed

There is also a craving technique in the book were you tap certain places in your body to distract you and take your mind of something sugary you wanted..this is not a diet as you will eventually get used to eating healthier choices but dont have the guilt if you eat chocolate...

If your peckish or in a situation wer food is everywhere,, ask yourself... Am i hungry...do i really want to eat this...if any of you would like to do this with me it would be brilliant and i hope you will as u will never let food control you the way it controlled me.. Now you can be in control and not be held bk by the guilt xxx

Hi Rochellen12 As if Paul McKenna nicked my 90 day idea Wink
That sounds really sensible and sounds like it's working for you!

Cheeseandbiscuits Fantastic news, it sounds like you're really enjoying it and doing so well. Hope you managed to stick to G&Ts on Saturday night Grin

We had a bit of an insane BH weekend so I've put on 2lbs. But, but I am on my period this week (sorry TMI!) and I think a lb of that will be pure bloating rather than 'real' weight gain IYSWIM.

Over the next couple of weeks I've got loads of stuff coming up which means 5lb (well maybe 7lb now after this weekend) for the next 21 days might be a bit ambitious. Let's just crack on and see where I manage to get to.

😂😂😂ha ha thats just what i was thinkn ha ha how dare he,, i weighed in early ino i shouldn have but iv lost 2lbs in 5 days..so il weigh again on thursday morning and will know what its in a week..its strange iv to say losing weight and me not depriving or thinkn abt food😍
You will do it 90 day challenger..that 2lb will be gone when your period is over..so 5lbs is still in your reach although there is no rush,,how many lbs do you plan on losing in the 90 days altogether😀

90daychallenger · 06/09/2016 11:02

Hi everyone.

Eurgh, it's been a bit of a nightmare week, I've been really unwell. Initially I'd thought great, this might help me shift a few pounds but I've been hungry all the time, haven't done any exercise and generally eaten like a pig.

So, although I've shifted to two pounds I gained during BH weekend, I haven't lost any 'actual weight'. Tomorrow I'm off for a big lunch with a friend then Thursday and Friday I'm at a work event which is always very well catered. Sooo, I don't think I'll be losing anything this week. I've been swimming and walking though, eating healthy teas and drinking lots of water. Go me!

Hope you're all getting on okay...

yikes, is everyone still doing this? i hope so!! i totally fell off the wagon and got back on and off again repeatedly, if that counted as exercise I'd be an olympian....here's to the next effort....
