thing anyone could say to someone who wants or needs to lose weight?

Have there been condescending comments, or not so much?

What are the BEST things friends or strangers could say or do - what gets you most motivated?

The worst thing anyone could say to me is "should you be eating that?" - makes me eat more!

No condescending moments as such here really.

The only thing that would motivate me is peope noticing that I had lost weight.

people saying 'but you don't need to'
(find that really irritating. I would like to go back to a size 10/12 from a 14/16 so whilst I'm not 'officially' overweight, I do 'need to')

This is the 1st time i have dieted in my life.Worst thing one of my circle of friends says(every week when we get weighed)is "oh agalch well done you have lost ANOTHER 3lbs,you do know it's cos you are bfing dd2 don't you?"

Errr no it's cos i have stopped stuffing my face with crap.Told her i have bf 2 other children and never lost any weight at all either time. But she won't have it,def down to bfing.Others have said it's a touch of

After getting into a denim skirt that didn't fit me from 2001 after I had dd, my father asked me "Have you been waiting to grow back into it?" In other words I was fatter now than I was in 2001

I love hearing, "I really notice the weight off you, you look great" or "Have you lost weight from I last saw you?"

Geekgrrl - what would be the proper answer, instead of "you don't need to?"
