Am I wrong in thinking it's a complete load of guff?

You are not wrong. Otherwise anorexics wouldn't continue to lose weight.

It's true that weight loss can appear to slow down due to insufficient calories however the fat and muscle loss remains the same. What changes is the volume of water and toxins from the breakdown of these which causes reduced scale loss.

Is it more that your body needs food to lose weight at a decent pace?

QuimReaper · 16/06/2016 23:01

What do you mean by a decent pace? Quickly or slowly?

It's definitely true that eating tiny amounts will fuck up your metabolism.

I was cruising some old threads this evening and one poster said you'd go into " starvation mode" and stop losing weight by eating less than eighteen hundred calories a day Hmm

Yes it's bollocks!

Drives me mad.

You will lose weight if you drop more calories not eat more!

I'm not advocating a really low cal diet, I'm just saying take it slow, accept water retention and TOM comes into play.
