Got a bit carried away at the shops today . So excited to find I've gone down a dress size that I treated myself to some new clothes. I'm feeling really motivated too - just as well for I cant afford to put weight back on now!
If anyone is feeling fed up dieting stick with it for you will soon see results and it makes it all worthwhile!

Demented · 29/05/2004 22:55

Fantastic Allegra! Indulged in some new clothes myself during the week, it feels great, doesn't it? DH said he hadn't really noticed my weight loss until he saw me in clothes that were a size smaller. I think sometimes the bigger clothes disguise the loss. It's definately encouraging even if you think you are going to drop a size or two more to buy something new that actually fits properly. Well done!

BTW What did you buy?

Allegra · 30/05/2004 06:29

I bought several of these bright summery skirts that are around this year. I love them and it makes a nice change as I usually only wear trousers. I had to get new bras too, as I've gone from 36 to 34. I am aiming to lose another stone/size before an Autumn spending spree!

Ghosty · 30/05/2004 08:30

Well done you two!
I am struggling a bit now ... haven't lost an ounce this week ... I know what I need to do (count points, write it down blah blah) but I can't seem to get motivated ...
I did go for a walk this afternoon ... and then came home to eat a roast dinner

gothicmama · 30/05/2004 08:40

Well done I'm struggling this week end of college and feel sad about that end of an era and all that

bunnyrabbit · 30/05/2004 20:32

Thank you so much for the card!!

Have just got back from two nights campling. Drank far too much beer and ate far to many naughty things! Scared to get on scales but will do so tomorrow.

Well done Demented on reaching your goal, and to everyone else. Keep up the good work.

gothicmama don't be too hard on yourself.... I must admit to allowing myself a treat in this sort of situation. If you have a small treat you'll feel happier but hopefully not too guilty... then back on those rails...

BR

gothicmama · 31/05/2004 14:39

thank youBunnyrabbit just what I needed to hear am back to counting now and having had a pleasurable weekend am back on those rails ...

Lisa78 · 31/05/2004 18:07

Hi!
Sorry Demented, am not slacking honestly - have been poorly, sick and dying, so not been near the scales let alone the kitchen. Not that this means I will have lost loads of weight, I have been eating whatever DH brought to tempt me - which one night was a big mac and fries... He did get it with a diet coke though!
Will get weighed next week and email as usual

Demented · 31/05/2004 19:09

Lisa, dying is not a worthy excuse! OK, I suppose I'll let you off this time, hope you are feeling better.

Gothicmama, glad to hear you are feeling more positive and refreshed. I think it goes to show that you can occasionally deviate from 'the plan' if you want to, as long as you get back on track again, that problem comes in if you view it as the start of the slippery slope and you don't come back. Well done!

Bunnyrabbit, glad you enjoyed your break!

Sounds nice Allegra, I bought summery stuff too. It felt really nice, I normally don't buy much summer stuff as I feel more comfortable hiding under my winter stuff for as long as possible.

BTW I haven't reached my final target that could be almost a stone away (or 5lbs, see how I feel at the time). I am determined not to put it all back on either so I'm sure I'll still be here for weight maintenance. I am slowing coming to terms with needing to watch my weight for the rest of my life.

Have just got back from three nights away (like bunnyrabbit we've been camping, so nothing exotic - lol) and haven't been very "good" during the break (wine, ice-cream, apple pie, fish & chips ). But only seem to have gained 1.5lbs so the challenge is now to lose that again in the next 4 days so that the week as a whole doesn't show a gain.

Good news though is that I discovered this morning that my favourite Monsoon silk trousers fit again And DH can't even object as it's old stuff which fits again, not new stuff I've bought.

gothicmama · 01/06/2004 11:13

Well done Lunarsea I bet that is such a fab feeling.

Demented · 01/06/2004 11:57

Woo hoo, well done Lunarsea! They'll be lovely for the summer!

I may not have measured myself yet but went away last week (and was not too well behaved) BUT got into the plane and the seat belt fitted with loads of slack and everyone in Ireland said I had lost weight which was brill. Even my dh who I must say rarely comments has called me the incredible vanishing woman so am now thinking of taking the plunge and weighing myself but worried it might stop the good vibes!

"£$%^&*( off Beety!

Demented · 01/06/2004 18:44

Go for it Glitterfairy, it'll give you added motivation to see every week the lbs coming off. You don't even need to give me your weight (it's only really handy for double checking that I've got the figures right), just tell me the lbs you are losing every week and these will be posted along with your total lbs loss every Friday.

LunarSea · 02/06/2004 10:35

I have to share this with you .... Tried on my Monsoon trousers again last night, trying to find something to go with them, when ds wandered in. "Ooh that's smart mummy" he says. Made my day. He's not 3 yet and already knows how to say the right thing to a woman - he'll go far!

gothicmama · 02/06/2004 11:17

Go glitter fairy it wil be fine : lunarsea wow he noticed an excellent trait in a male

glitterfairy · 02/06/2004 15:39

ok weigh in tomorrow and then I will let you all know weight loss per week and thanks lisa that told her! Beety wont be quiet though she never is and I love her for it she has really got me into the slimming although now and then she needs a slap to keep her in order.

Allegra · 02/06/2004 16:11

Oh dear, weigh in tomorrow and I've just had three Breakaway biscuits in a row.
Mega crisis as my washing machine has just broken down and I'm in the middle of packing to go on holiday.
And just to cheer me up (not) DS2(3) has just said my new haircut makes me look like Miss Hooley
