Is it possible and how would you do it. I'm a size 28 and really want to get down to a size 20 when I start my new job in September. I've tried slimming world but didn't really work for me as I ate far too many carbs. Thanks x

I've lost 3st6 lbs in 5 months doing 5:2 diet, great group on here too. Plus bit out dairy. Good luck!

Another idea might be low carb high fat. There's a Bootcamp starting next week which you could join.

I've been following for three months and have lost 13kg so far, and am down 1.5 dress sizes.

I struggle with low carb high fat as I only eat chicken and fish and I can have nuts in house as DS has a nut allergy - never heard of 5:2 will go and Google.

You don't have to eat nuts on lc diet.
Harder with fish and chicken only but still doable.

Googling lc diet now x

My Fitness Pal is a great free app.

The BSD, (blood sugar diet by Michael Moseley) appears to get great results. There is a thread or 3 in the fasting topic in weight loss

I'm liking the idea of a low carb diet - looks a bit like slimming world red days of old. Will need to do a bit of research first.

I follow LC (as I said) but also track calories because otherwise I think I would over indulge on fats, like you with SW and carbs.

I used the Keto calculator on ruled.me to work out my personal recommended macro breakdown, including overall calories. I stick to 1400 net/day, after exercise.

I'm going to be the voice of reason here. 4 dress sizes in 4 months is a very lofty goal that, should you not achieve, could end up fucking up all your efforts.

A dress size, on average (but HIGHLY dependent on body shape and muscle mass) is a loss of ten pounds (for me anywhere from 15 to 20). So minimum you want to lose is 40 lbs in 4 months. But averaging 2 lbs a week (the safe amount) the most you can lose is 30. And that's not considering AF weeks and falls of the wagon.

Don't set unrealistic goals. Set achieveable ones!

orangeisthenewblue · 08/05/2016 19:21

What do you eat usually, what does an average day look like to you?

treeagate · 08/05/2016 20:25

Average day:

Breakfast - tea and mini weetabix
Mid am - go ahead bar
Lunch - peanut butter sandwich, crisps and low fat yoghurt
Afternoon - chocolate bar
Dinner - tuna pasta bake and a Pitta
Evening - fruit tea

I don't drink alcohol only 1 bottle wine at weekends and drink water all day at work

Oh and I average 10,000 steps per day on my fit bit
