Last stone just won't budge - ideas needed.

I've lost a lot of weight slowly over the past 5-6 years with periods of just maintaining. This is a huge achievement for me as I have yo-yo'd for the past 20 odd years and been over a size 18 for most of my adult life. I'm now 6 stone lighter than I was at my heaviest. I think I've got the overeating in check most of the time I'm exercising regularly and all that jazz.

I've done EVERY diet known to woman and had success on most when I stick to them. Over the last year I've used MFP until January where even on 1100-1200 cals I stopped losing weight. I switched to SW and do what was the old red plan where I don't eat carbs except veg and the healthy extra (usually Ryvita). I'm sticking to it but after losing about 9lb it has plateaued again.

So, has anyone got any ideas on how to kick start the weight loss again and help me get this last bastard stone off?

Firstly, and most obviously, do you actually need to lose a stone? Are you just fixating on a number on the scales?

Do you know what your BMI range is? Where are you in that range?

Second, if you've starting low carbing (which it sounds like you might be), are you eating enough fat?

Yes, definitely a stone. Well, it's a bit more actually, I'm only 5'4 so 10st 5 would put me right at the top end of my BMI. I'll take that, I have no desire to be skinny, just healthy. I'm 11st 9 at the minute.

I haven't been eating fat because I have been eating some carbs and still drinking sometimes at weekends. I have to be careful because when I've done full on low carb in the past, the fat seems to upset my stomach. I can't eat cream without being sick Confused. Maybe I had too much fat? I did lose weight though, quickly as well! Might be worth another look.

Low carb should be high fat.

You don't have to eat/drink cream! Grin

Oily dressings on salad, butter on veg, fattier cuts of meat and fish, etc.

Thanks BIWI. I probably went a bit overboard Grin I'll maybe give it another go.
