If it were the nappy it would have been far worse before she was dry in the day as well, I would have thought.

Still waiting for the phone call ...

She finally called back - they don't think it's worth them trying to investigate themselves, as there are so many things it could be, so they are referring dd to a paediatrician who may then refer her onwards.

Well I guess they don't think that any of the things that it could be are urgent, so that's a good thing. Annoying not to have some sort of diagnosis, though.

WigWamBam · 18/01/2007 17:32

I now have a far better understanding of the urinary system ... she drew me lots of little diagrams and spent ages telling me what it could mean if the blood were coming from each different part. I don't know if that was reassuring or bloody worrying!

She says she's asking for an urgent appointment in view of dd's age and the fact we think it's been going on for a long while now - she has been treated for three years for recurrent water infections (which they now tell me have never tested positive for infection) and is prone to a sore fanjo - so she reckons we should hear from them within a week.

oh WWB - you must be stressed out... hope the appointment comes through very soon - at least they're referring your dd on to hopefully people who'll be able to sort it out - good luck.

Meanwhile I've been naughty and not gone to WW. Only just got home because of the weather and can't be bothered, so I'll have to skip the weigh in this week (also v. scared of the results because of dreadful over eating this week...).

Dear WWB - I don't know if this will be of any reassurance to you: I was investigated for blood in my urine when I was pg with DD (now 6). Had ultrasound on kidneys (had a little look at baby too, v.sweet), then after she was born, xrays on kidneys, then I can't remember what it was called but a tiny little camera put up into my bladder (endoscopy?) via the urethra. Before that procedure they sent me a leaflet explaining about the procedure and warning in a gentle way to expect a little discomfort. But I felt nothing at all! About 100% less discomfort than a routine smear test, for which they DO NOT send you a little leaflet telling you to expect discomfort, do they?

The upshot was - nothing detected. As far as I know, I still have the condition. Blood in my urine was picked up when I was pg for second time. But no further investigations were deemed necessary. I only offer this by way of comfort that sometimes these things just happen and do not mean some serious underlying problem.

Poor you, poor dd, hope you get to the root of it quickly.

Morning all

WWB poor dd My dd1 has a very sore fanjo atm too.She has been out of nappies since the day before xmas eve and i am thinking it could be just washing powder or the fact she can fiddle with her bits more now.I have zero faith in the medical profession tho so unless it really bothers her on a daily basis i will keep giving her knickers a good rinse after washing and use the drapolene which does help.

Went to SS last night and lost 4.5 lbs, thats a total of 1st at the class and 2st altogether since i stopped eating so much crap in November.

Have bought my dress now so need to keep going till i get married at least or i wont fit into it lol.

back to work on Monday after mat leave boohoo!! Have a 3yr old boy starting(i'm a childminder)so will need to be more organised as i wont have time to prepare food at the last minute anymore.

Need to get on here more too, have a good day all

Morning girls.

Thanks for the good wishes re dd. She had blood in her wee again last night but it's clear again this morning. Fingers crossed that the appointment with the paed comes quickly!

OK ... the weights

Agalch: -4lb (total 9lb)
BabySmurf: -2lb (total 6lb)
Cheesyfeet: -5lb (total 5lb)
Eeyore: -2lb (total 6.5lb)
Fauve: stayed the same (total 13lb)
Flutterbee: -6lb (total 6lb)
JackieNo: stayed the same (total 29lb)
Schneebly: -1lb (total 3lb)
Songbird: -1lb (total 1lb)
Twoisenoughmum: +1lb (total +2lb)
WWB: -2lb (17lb)

So this week's crown goes to Flutterbee - Agalch and Cheesyfeet both deserve to give themselves a pat on the back as well.
