Pilates - is this normal?

Did a Pilates class today (done one at another gym) and while it was ok, I didn't get much out of it. Wasn't sweating at all, obviously I'm a beginner so I'm sure I wasn't doing it all right but ...is this normal for Pilates?

Yes-wait until tomorrow! You'll be aching in all sorts of places you never knew you had muscles. I never break a sweat in Pilates either.

Hmm ok. Good to know! I usually do HIIT. By the end of it I'm knackered and feel like I've worked hard. Today I just felt like I'd wasted my gym time and was upset with myself. Hopefully though I feel it tomorrow and I also feel like going again!

Try 'Do More Pilates'. It's a DVD although I recorded it from fitness tv (Sky).

After first session I couldn't bend properly in the middle my abs were so sore! I had to start it again just doing 15-20 mins a time.

I am otherwise fairly fit - run, swim, cycle - cardio is not the same as proper resistance training.
