Just found out I'm pregnant again after still being 2 stone overweight from the last one 1yr ago! I really want to lose weight but everything I read just says don't diet during pregnancy. Can I just try and stick to 1500 cals? Balanced re cards ano proteins? So scared of any more weight gainSad

No, don't deliberately try to do that. You'll make yourself sick.
low carb is great in pregnancy, particularly where morning sickness is concerned, but don't strictly limit quantity, if you can actually eat.

And you might find that you need carbs to prevent digestive discomfort. Listen to your body, as it has a big job to do. Just don't swing the other way and scoff whole packs of biscuits, which is what I found myself doing in my first pregnancy.

Don't calorie count - just make active decisions to eat only good stuff with lots of nutrients, including good fats. Or if you DO calorie count, don't restrict, just track. Tracking on MFP or similar would be a good way of making sure you don't gain excessive weight during pregnancy, just try not to obsess about it. Maybe set MFP to maintenance and aim to keep your calories around there.

Sticking to 1500 cals when you aren't pregnant is hard enough. I really wouldn't do it. Try to eat well and don't use the pregnancy as an excuse to binge.
