Hey, I have had two children and need to get back down to around 11st. I am going for the slow and steady approach (although I am 30 in October so needs to be before then!)

Can I please join. DS2 was born 3 weeks ago and I currently weigh 14st 7lb and the worst bit is that's not baby weight Sad it's my pre-preg weight. I desperately need to do something. I'm bloated, sluggish, spotty and in pain with my joints. I had HG my entire pregnancy and expressing is making me hungry enough to eat my own arm so I think I need shaming into it tbh. I'm on mat leave now til next Jan so I need to sort myself out as I'll never have this time at home again.

original congratulations on your baby! Take it easy on yourself though, its very soon to think about weight loss. I planned to start as soon as Ds ws born as was overweight pre preg but lost the 'baby weight' immediately. Then put 10lbs on since! Breastfeeding made me bloody starving! I did have success with eating better for a couple of weeks and list 6lb! Then stopped.....

You need stuff that will fill you up and is a healthier choice. I had full fat yogurt, Greek yogurt with fruit and granola, sweet vita with peanut butter. Branflakes/porridge for breakfast. But cut out chocolate, cake, biscuits etc - all the quick fix stuff. It worked for me and wasn't too drastic, i didn't want to affect milk production. Good luck!

How has everyone's week been? I was 13st 5.6 this morning, so 4lbs down this week. I need to stay focussed over the weekend as my husband does not do healthy eating!
Does anyone else have the same issue with their partner not wanting to eat healthily?

Well done Laura 4lbs is great. I'm going to weigh myself on Monday.

My husband eats healthily but just so much of it! He does most of the cooking and it's always so yummy, hence the weight gain.

Welcome originalusernamefail and congratulations on your new baby. It's several years since I was breast feeding my dcs but I'm pretty sure you need to eat loads of good stuff as you need it to sustain the milk production.

I've had a good week, I've managed to stick to it and not strayed. I do need to cut down on my portion size and maybe look at eating little and more often.

We have booked to go away in august so that gives me 6 months to lose the 2stone I want to shift.

I haven't started any exercising yet as wanted to get used to eating less first. I did go for a quick jog around the block but bumped into several people I know and one tried talking to me.... I was puffing & panting!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend

May I join too? I am 13 stone 5. Primarily, I want to lose weight for health reasons. I also want to wear nice clothes and look good in them.
It has also recently dawned on me that I am the fat one amongst all my friendsBlushSad

PrudenceDear · 06/02/2016 20:19

Welcome Dotty, of course you may join. Do you have an action plan?

I've found my size slowly creeping up and I can't bear to keep buying bigger sizes so I literally have nothing to wear. I'm hoping that the incentive of firstly fitting into my old clothes will spur me on and then getting to buy new will push me further. I too am now the fat one amongst my friends..... But I wasn't before.

Thanks Prudence.
I have just started back at the gym and I am going most days. Food is where I need to really concentrate. I am going to reduce carbs and eat more veg. I am not a big fruit eater. I need to stop snacking and picking. A biscuit here and a biscuit there, soon adds over the course of a day.

I did try slimming world and I am going to follow some of it for healthy eating. Speed food etc. I think just try and be more sensible overall and if I do have a treat, halve the portion.

I have started socialising more lately and it has hit me how big I have become.Sad

I am starting afresh today. I didn't put on much weight over Christmas, but I have put on a stone over January. Probably because I find it such a depressing month and eat more comfort food etc.

My diet could be a lot better. Thanks fitnessgirl I shall take a look at that website.

Well I weighed myself this morning for the first time since I began my healthy eating and I am 11,2. That's 7lb down which I am very happy with. This week I plan to try and concentrate on eating a little, more often, sticking to the good stuff.

The past week I've learnt & rediscovered lots of lovely, easy foods that are tasty but good. I have been hungry a lot but I think I need my body to get used to a normal sized portion rather than the humungous portions I was eating along with a constant stream of snacks like crisps, biscuits, cakes.....
I also need to start a fitness program, I need to get the DVDs out and start my evening running.

Hope you all had a good weekend
