Okay to leave 9yo in house alone while I run 6-7am?

I'm wondering if it's okay to go out for an hour, to run, before 9yo wakes up? I'm a fat single, home educating mum and it's just the two of us 24/7. We live in a safe area.

What do you honestly think?

I left my 8 year old alone for the first time while I ran his sibling to nursery last week, was out of the house for 35 mins. He played on his ds and, as we'd agreed, called me on my mobile every so often for a chat. He loved phoning me, though my heart sank a bit whenever he rang in case something had happened! What I had not thought of was a second contact in case I was knocked down, will need to teach him the speed dial for his dad too, if I ever need to do it again.

Yes, I did/do leave DD alone while I go for a run.
If she's still asleep I put her tablet, phone, breakfast on a tray (just in case she thinks of warming up croissants of whatever) in front of her room with a note saying 'be back by x, gone for a run/swim etc'.
I normally pre warn her the night before.
I have my phone with me.
