i want my body back

Had a baby 7 months ago(my third) and i still don't recognise my body. My pre pg was 10 stone although i feel more comfortable at 9 stone. I am currently 11 so need to lose at least a stone. I have had to buy new clothes in a 14 which i have never done in my life. I know im not massive and dont want to come across as vain and self-obsessed, but i am so down about it. I have joined weight watchers and a gym this week, and am determined but it has taken 7 months for me to get motivated. How do people lose it so quick after babies(mind you it was much quicker with my first 2 but that was 10 years ago). My tummy is my problem area i still feel wobbly and bloated and where is my waist these days? I had a csection this time though and my tummy just seems different somehow, almost like it is still swollen. Anyone else have this and anyone got their body back to at least vaguely how it was before and never thought they would?

I know exactly how you feel. My eldest is 4 now so haven't even got the excuse of "baby weight". I weight 10stone 9lb and feel huge - am bordering on size 12 - 14 and I really want to lose weight. The doctor reckons its not my weight but exercise I need to do so I have started swimming 3 times a week and speed walking. I do feel so much better for it though.

i know 14 is not big but when you have always been a 10 and you have a wardrobe full of clothes that you would love to wear it is depressing. Hate bumpin into people i havnt seen in a while. i know what they are thinkin

Aqua - i am feeling exactly like you atm - pre-pregnancy with number 2 i weighed 9 stone 7 lbs and was size 10/12. Now, 7 months after having ds i weigh 11 stone 6 lbs and wear size 14 clothes. I feel bad moaning about it because some of my friends are size 14 normally, but like you said, when you're used to being 10/12 then size 14 IS big.

I just cant get motivated but i know i need to exercise and diet. Like you, i have a wardrobe of lovely clothes that i just cannot get into. I hate myself atm and feel lazy.

My second baby is now seven months old and I feel fat. I am 14/16 and need to lose at least a stone to get back to my 12/14 size I am more comfortable with. Trouble is can't motivate myself for diet. I do go to gym but whenever I get there the lure of the pool, jacuzzi and steam room are very tempting !!!!

When i had my first child I lost some weight but not much as I know I wanted another child now my second child is 2 1/2 and I have so much weight to lose and I get depressed because I want to lose and hate myself I wonder sometimes why my husband wants to be with me but I just cant get motivated to lose the weight and that annoys me more.
I need some motivation and some help

aqua i recognise your feelings

it took me a year after each baby to get back to my usual size and weight

i did this with ww (which i ended up hating, all that noting down points grr) and gym, i made up my own diet of
no bread
no wheat at all
no snacks
porridge for breakfast every morning, sometimes lunch too

i lost weight pretty quick once i stuck to it properly

nailpolish · 08/12/2006 13:07

also

dont eat after 6pm

(wine only )

and i skip meals. i always have breakfast and lunch but 3 or 4 days a week i dont have dinner at night. i dotn seem to get hungry, although i usually wake up hungry

also, i go to the gym in the evenings and i cant do that on a full stomach, and by the time i get back its too late eat and im not hungry anyway after exercising

Another one here (but my youngest is heading for 2). I also have a wardrobe full of 10/12 clothes but am tipping into the 14 range. We are due to move house in aweek or two and then it is christmas/new year. So I have decided to put it off until the new year, then I am determine to shed 1 and 1/2 stone by the summer.

LRWG · 11/12/2006 08:53

Me too!

I could have written Aqua's post, same age baby, weight etc., c-section etc. Feeling vile and fat and ugly.

Really want to do something about it, but I had severe SPD during pregnancy and am still having physio and unable to run or even walk too far without crutches, so I sit at home and snack. I don't want to accept it and just buy bigger clothes - I want my body back! DH has said to wait until after the Christmas break and he'll do the WW Points with me.

majorityofone · 11/12/2006 19:38

This so is where I am at. Even my 14 jeans are starting to feel rather tight and the 10's in the wardrobe just seem a long way away. Am NOT going to buy any bigger jeans though as that would be failure on a grand scale.

Where to start though and how to find the motivation. We all know what we have to do but it's the doing that is hard.

Not going to beat myself up two weeks before christmas as that would be daft but am just working up to a 2 stone drop in the new year...Did manage to throw away the ds's leftovers tonight. A small step but in the right direction.

Maybe we can start a new year thread and see how it goes...

Hi Aqua, you sound just like me as well! My 3rd dd is one next week & I'm only about 4lbs lighter than when I had her - depressing or what?? I get very down about it as well & have asked for an exercise dvd for Christmas so hopefully can motivate myself to succeed this time! Have tried to diet several times since having her but with no luck at all - my weight just dropped off after the 1st 2 so I can't understand why this time is different, I do sympthasise with you!

LRWG · 12/12/2006 08:15

Totally agree Marorityofone! I'll join your thread in the New Year!
