I suppose I should have weighed myself today but I didn't! Too scared! Been really good today though - well and truly back on the wagon!

How's everyone else?

And if anyone else is as sad as me and is watching I'm a Celebrity.... How big are Cherie Blair's sisters hips? Makes me feel positively svelte!

Back on wagon as well here. Bit boring though after the jolly weekend of excess. Just checking in to get myself on the "threads I'm on"...

Hello everyone.

Don't know what I weigh, don't know whether I'm in ketosis - I feel like cack but I've got an endless cold atm (as have all 3 of my whingeing kids ). But my jeans fit better again. Just got to the no-cravings-no-hunger stage so suppose I must be in ketosis.

May I make a bold suggestion - I know my initial suggestion to go back to induction was a bit of a bad one..but here goes!!! No weighing, no ketostix, no measuring for 4 weeks. It takes away all the pressure and as long as you basically stick to the rules it will work - thing is it sometimes takes longer to work than you expect and that is discouraging. I read all your (apart from sally who seems to be doing really well with her 'new and improved low carb diet' ) posts about not losing or about putting a bit on and getting seriously hacked off - been there done that beleive me!! But it sometimes is worth stepping back and not obsessing about instant results. Might work.

HI,I still find weighing myself each morning helps me.I tend to lose about once a week, but it does keep me on the straight and narrow.I honestly haven't cheated for weeks.I've now lost 1stone 4lbs yeh!weight loss definately a bit slower now though.

I hope this weight loss is helping my cholesterol level which is the whole reason I started the diet in the first place.Does anyone know if you can buy a diy test kit for cholesterol?

joelallie · 14/11/2006 09:42

Well done ggirl. If weighing is helpful carry on! I'm not sure you can buy home testing kits for cholestrol but I'm sure that chemists will do the test for you. I've seen them offered in Superdrug I think.

Oh dear - me and the wagon are fairly distant acquaintances at the moment - just been for a 99 course (or thereabouts) Turkish lunch and very nice it was too...However, I'm adopting The Strawb Plan now as the carb guzzle over the weekend doesn't seem to have done any harm weight-wise...

Joelallie - I agree about the not weighing but I'm not sure if I could keep that up for a month.

Let's just say it's not a problem...

brimfull · 15/11/2006 09:58

well Gillian would put mine in a bloody frame ,stick it on her wall and extol the virtues of it to all and sundry!

joelallie · 15/11/2006 10:17

Mine too . Never had a big problem in that department but ...put it this way.... on lc my visits for a poo are short and sweet and don't need more than 2 sheets. . It cleared up DH's IBS which I think says a lot for it.

dabihp · 15/11/2006 11:08

dabihp - I have a 9, 7 and 3 yr old. It's not too bad. For example if I do sausages - I have salad and mayo and they have veg and mash. As it happens we often eat seperately during the week as my DH gets home after 6 usually and they'd be eating the carpet by then

I'm afraid that it is expensive. You can use loads of mince and cheaper stuff like sausages (only the more pricey ones though) but it's still not as cheap as a plate full of rice and pasta. It's not as if we are rolling in it either but the whole family eats better now - more fresh meat and veg and less processed foods. Eggs are a useful staple but as I can't stand them I'm in the same boat as you. Breakfast is a problem for me as I usually end up with grilled bacon and mushrooms which I get bored of - it's usually the crunch thing that makes me break the diet for a while.
