I've been eating like a pig for about a month I MUST lose some weight before Christmas. I reckon I now weigh a stone more than I did this time last year (this isn't drastic overestimating, I was doing weight watchers until about 6 weeks ago)
Is there anyone out there who wants to join me in a pre-Christmas weight loss....please

I'm the same.
I dug out my WW books today and am determined now to stick to it.

Wisp · 13/11/2006 10:15

Yep I'm starting today!. I have been doing the Cambridge Diet for 8 weeks, and have lost 2 stone, but I need "real" food now, and the Cambridge diet was messing up my thyroid. I'm not going to a class, but going by my books from a couple of years ago. I think Im on 18 points at 9 stone 11?, and my target weight is 8st 7lbs.

I did WWs in 2002 and lost 5 stone- so I know how well it works!

YeahBut · 13/11/2006 10:19

Yes, I'm joining tomorrow so I'll be your buddy in deprivation.

CountessDracula · 13/11/2006 10:26

Yes ME!

have not been too bad a pig but have been ill in bed for weeks and so have put on 6lbs argh

Need to lose about 2 stone!

aweebitgross · 13/11/2006 10:27

Ww works brilliantly! I lost 3stone with it in 1999.. and then I joined again after my first child, and fell pregnant very soon with my 2nd child

I now do the SW programme and find it great too, I was getting very slack re: WW and not weighing food properly, and guessing portion sizez etc..and how many points was in food. On SW I find I can eat far more as there is no limt, like when you have eaten 18points you cant have anything else, even a bit of fruit is more points.. on sw fruit is free, as is eggs, and certain other foods depending on what day you are doing, original or green. It's working for me, but ww worked for me too, so I guess it depends on your frame of mind...and if you're greedy like me

YAY! I went out, came back and I had mates!

Ok, so me, Emkana, Wisp, Yeahbut and the Countess! Right girls. This it. We will be even more gorgeous by Christmas! This is what I'm having for dinner tonight, I highly recommend it....YUMMY!

Indian spiced chicken (5 points)
serves 4

4 chicken breasts
100ml of low fat plain yog
2 garlic cloves crushed
1/2 tsp turmeric
1tsp ground cumin
2 shallots (or red onion) chopped v. finely
2 tblsp of lemon juice
2 tblsp of chopped fresh coriander
1/2tsp salt (don't leave this out, it needs it!)
8oz basmati ice
50g frozen peas
2 tomatoes, de-seeded and diced
1 tblsp fresh mint
salt
lemon wedges to serve

chop chicken breasts into large chunks. Mix yog, garlic, turmeric, cumin, shallots, lemon juice, coriander and salt. Coat chicken in it, marinate for 1 hr.

  1. heat over to gas 5. Spray oil a baking tray and place chicken on it. Bake in oven for 25 mins
  1. cook rice adding peas once water is boiling. Drain, stir in mint and tomatoes
  1. serve chicken on top.

This is a ww recipe but slightly tweaked (arf!) to make it even better.

hello

anyway - working on a low gi, no processed, no wheat, no dairy kinda thing. because i hear it alleviates symptoms. and cos i wanna loose lots of weight.

how many weeks is it til christmas anyway???

thehairybabysmum · 13/11/2006 13:09

Hello...can i join in...went back last thurs after a break of a few weeks. Am off on hol in 4 weeks and would like to lose 1/2 sone before i go and another stone after that (plus whatever i put back on on hol!!).

Am struggling not to eat chocolate and cheeses scones!!

danceswithmonkeys · 13/11/2006 13:57

More the merrier I say.

Ok, so can anyone else give me some good snack ideas? I have a really sweet tooth. The best I can come up with is a packet of iced jems (1 1/2 points) I'm hopeless with biscuits because I cannot eat just one.

Oh and Countess, I've been ill for a bit too, that's what caused me to 'fall off the wagon' so to speak (hospital for a week at the end of September and an operation last week...I'm just recovering from that then I should be 100% better) but it does mean I'm not doing as much as usual.

Hi danceswithmonkeys,
For 1.5 points, a]kitkat mini chunky, b]ww biscuits,2 in pack, c]mini milky way, d]skinny cow choc fudge ice cream, e]rolo's 3 pack.
For 2 points a]fig roll bar, b]mini snickers, c]mini mars bar, d]2 jaffa cakes.

Make sure you don't get the snacksize packs of bars as they are bigger. I think it's the treatsize or mini packs. I find I eat these with a coffee/tea away from the kitchen after a meal and this allows the craving to be satisfied. I couldn't do the day if I didn't have the treats to look forward to.

Hi dior,
Thought at first you were calling my suggestions 'a wee bit gross' and felt what paragons you must all be . .

Ok girls, I'm feeling the pressure from Dior, do you fancy a mass walk over to the PROPER thread? (or are you all over there already?!)

My tea was yum by the way

Happy to up sticks and move.

a cadbury finger of fudge is 2.5 points (normal size). Iced gems...i love them, will get some when i go shopping.

Personally i cant buy the treat sized bags as would wolf them all down, not just one packet!
