16 week Summer Weight-Loss starting June 14th! All welcome : )

I am in the middle of a big move to another continent, flying out June 8th. As a result of all the stress-inducing shenanigans I have put on 10lb in the last couple of months alone, plus all that luverly chub I've been storing for a rainy day!

Once we've moved I should finally be able to focus on a healthy lifestyle and eating well with plenty of exercise (supposedly!). I will "officially" start on June 14th. Would anyone like to join? Whichever methods you prefer to move toward healthiness welcome : ) 16 weeks takes us into late September so I really would like to see some significant results! I need to lose at least 20lb (1.5 stone) and then hopefully keep going. My short term goal once I start will be the first 5lb and to do some form of exercise daily.

Anyone?

You are all doing so well already. I am slacking, had a tough day with my daughter yesterday, the inconsolable teething kind and skipped zumba. Have been eating relatively well and the only snack I have had are carrot sticks. Normally I eat less when it's hot but this week I have been starving for some reason.
I should probably start weighing myself and measuring myself but haven't been that organised so far, Will go and do it now so I know what I'm starting from.

I'm hovering around the same weight at the moment- am so tired, I keep snacking, and not good ones at all. New day tomorrow however- onwards and upwards. :)

I would like to join you too please Smile

Just faced the scales this morning and it isn't good news...I am just 5.6 lbs shy of my heaviest weight ever (I've kept below that for 5 years but have got dangerously close a few times...).

I'm going to start now. The first thing that needs to go is the wine and then my slack approach to meal planning. Think my plan will be healthy eating but also keeping an eye on the calories using MFP. I've already started adding in exercise (which has been a joy after a long bout of plantar fasciitis holding me back!) so I will be looking to increase/maintain that.

Oh dear!

Just put in the ingredients for dinner into MFP Shock. I bought a recipe box from Riverford this week and this was the last recipe to make - Chorizo, Cider & Fennel with Penne & Companion salad. Recipe called for 300g of Chorizo and it only serves two! A portion comes in at 1309 kcals. I don't think I had a full serving and the rest is in the fridge to have cold tomorrow (as DH and DS are fussy and won't eat it). It was nice but definitely not worth those calories.

Well, at least I have started recording the calories so at least know now!

Don't worry, just try to keep the majority of your meals healthier and don't beat yourself up. I find if you restrict yourself too much you end up bitter and binge instead. The odd high calorie meal isn't going to hurt as long as generally you are eating better and exercising.

Thank you Superbfairywren. Now what to do with the portion in the fridge...

I counted calories and the scales were kind this morning so I'm calling yesterday a success - a step in the right direction anyway.

First official day of the 16 weeks today - hope you are all settled in now heylilbunny and motivated.

I'm doing very badly. My baby is teething inconsolably and not sleeping very well and yesterday I had a McDonald's which isn't something I would normally eat! Didn't go to zumba, need to try to find the energy to go tonight.

How is everyone else doing? I'm so tired I didn't even walk the dog yesterday, not that he was bothered. I feel like I need a couple of days solid sleep and then I might be able to start this properly.

Morning.
Hope this thread keeps going as I will really need the moral support. I will be starting today.

Height 5'9''
Weight 12st 8

Yesterday was a dreadful day. I keep binge eating chocolate, yesterday I had 9 twixes a boost bar and then a large bar of galaxay caramel in the evening. Must stop this before I end up huge again. This time last year I was 14st 11 and lost some through healthy eating and then ww . The past few weeks I had been really good cycling 10 miles a day on the bike and eating healthily but its all gone out the window. I have 4 dcs aged 9, 4, 2, 1 and when they are sleeping or at school I see any quiet time as my time for a treat or reward. I feel like shit, probably look like shit and I will probably be posting alot about how hard I am finding it. X

Hello, so glad more people have joined us!
How is everyone doing today?

I weighed myself yesterday and I have lost those first 2lbs! Am really pleased and feel a bit more motivated to keep going now. Have started logging on mfp again and trying to stick to 1200calories, although not being too strict as I'm breastfeeding and quite sleep deprived still. Have cut out tea(I normally have 2 sugars) and squash this week and only drinking water and peppermint tea. Trying to eat earlier in the day and less in the evening. Also made myself a massive list of things to do in the house and not going to bed until I've done at least 3 a day! Stops me slobbing around in the evenings!

Shut day yesterday and today. Hoping dh being home for the next 10 days will help me cut down my eating. Feel fat and hating it!

Maybe make some meal plans or get him to encourage you to get back out on your bike! Sorry you've had bad days, it's so tough I know. I am far heavier than I should be and really need to shift a lot of weight or I'm going to lose all confidence.

I've not bought chocolate for weeks and our large supply had finally dwindled so there's absolutely nothing tempting in the house at all this week. That's really helped me eat better the last few days so although I haven't done a lot of exercise I've not snacked on anything other a carrot here and there, I've not had tea since Tuesday and no sugary drinks, just water. Feeling positive, just wish I could get a babysitter so I could get out and do some exercise in the evenings! Am in on my own and really tempted by a glass of wine tonight!!

Hi everyone, can I join please?!

I have been trying to lose weight for the longest time and have been so frustrated at the lack of real success and / or regaining it if I take my eye off the ball for what feels like the merest second.

I sat down last week and wrote a list of rules that I am going to stick to, incorporating the bits from various diets / approaches that I think will work best for me but also fitting into home life as much as possible.

So I weighed myself yesterday and I've lost 1.1 kilos, which is a good start! Only 25 or so kg to go...

I hope that if I can just keep going with my "rules" and post here to keep myself accountable then it really will work. Eventually anyway! My 40th is at the start of next year and I so want to be looking and feeling a lot different by then, even if I'm not completely at my goal weight.

Oops, this thread got forgotten.
How is everyone doing?
I lost my 5kilos then went on holiday and put 2 back on and now I'm back down again after another short holiday, just got to put some more work in the next few weeks to try to fit into some of my old clothes for a wedding and some christenings, hope everyone is doing okay.
