When you get on the scales . . .

When you weigh yourself, are you wearing "light indoor clothing" as it says on NHS websites, or are you, like me, in your birthday suit, specs off, making sure it's first thing in the morning and you've had a pee? If I'm dressed, later in the day, I'm four pounds heavier, damn it! And overweight on BMI scale instead of just within healthy range. But is this cheating?

First thing in the morning, straight after a wee with just my nightie on.

Hadn't considered all the weight in my glasses adding to the scales....

pippistrelle · 05/05/2015 22:42

Definitely NOT cheating. It's the One True Way. (i.e. it's what I do...)

strawberrytablecloth · 05/05/2015 22:46

As above and always before I shower in case any drops of water are still clinging to me when I get on the scales as drops of water can be very heavy you know!

lostinindia · 05/05/2015 22:47

Yup all of the above and I move the scales around the floor as I weigh less in different parts of the bathroom.

Bloodybridget · 06/05/2015 10:33

Glad you all do the same - RedCrayons bravely wearing her nightie! I decided this morning I'm going to try and just weigh in once a week, I get too silly about it otherwise.

I've been known to shave my legs before getting on the scales. Ahem.

DownWithThisTypeOfThing · 06/05/2015 10:34

Underwear after having wee AND poo.

tabulahrasa · 06/05/2015 10:41

I get weighed at slimming world...so, um, no - I wear clothes, I figure it's better for everyone that way, lol

ItsaTenfromDen · 06/05/2015 14:20

I scale hop at home naked, but officially get weighed at weightwatchers, so do everyone a favour and get dressed for that:)

Bloodybridget · 06/05/2015 14:32

So if you have a naked weigh at home and a clothed weigh at WW or wherever, what do you think of as your real weight?

OP posts:
helenahandbag · 06/05/2015 14:38

Your "real" weight isn't going to be when you're wearing clothes because you're also weighing the clothes. Your "real" weight is just you in the buff, first thing in the morning after going to the loo. Anything after that will also include food, water and clothes.

Perfectlypurple · 06/05/2015 14:43

And before brushing your teeth in case you swallow a bit of water!

ClubSmed · 06/05/2015 15:17

I always weigh myself naked in the morning after a pee and before breakfast. I do this routine on a Thursday to ensure that my body has had some time to recover from any over indulgence at the weekend Wink

DownWithThisTypeOfThing · 06/05/2015 15:25

Ah good thinking Club

I'd be happy never to weigh myself again - scales are evil instruments of torture.

Yeah I'm still not over the shovk of my weigh in.
